Anniversaries, holidays, and birthdays don’t stop because of the pandemic, and that was evident at the 75th birthday surprise that actor Kurt Russel prepared for his longtime partner-in-love, actress Goldie Hawn. There was social distancing, there was love, and there were sweet touches in the air. And while 75 years old is a more traditional milestone, Kurt Russell’s surprise was lovely, modern, and full of amazement for Goldie Hawn.
The drive-up premiere for their upcoming Netflix movie The Christmas Chronicles: Part II was held on November 21st at the Grove Mall in Los Angelos. The first movie, The Christmas Chronicles, premiered in 2018, and both are doing very well and available on Netflix. In Part II, Russell and Hawn play Mr. and Mrs. Clause. This movie is one of the five times that they’ve been together on screen. Their last film together was Swing Shift in 1984. Russell surprised his love at the premiere with a montage of pre-recorded birthday wishes shown at the film’s start. Birthday wishes were from Hawn’s co-stars and directors alike. The montage included accolades, praise, and well wishes by The Christmas Chronicles: Part II director Chris Columbus and co-stars Tracy Smith, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, and Tyrese Gibson. The surprise tributes to Hawn were topped-off with a sweet piece of birthday cake for all.
Hawn and Russell have been partners for over 37 years. They met in 1968 when they were 20 and 15, respectively. They were on the set of a Disney musical, The One and Only Genuine Original Family Band, and back then, Hawn preferred to date older guys. By the time they met again, it was on Swing Shift’s set, and by then, they had both been married, divorced, and not looking for love. However, love was looking for them, and they have been together since Swing Shift. They agree that there is no secret to their long-lasting Hollywood love except that they both want the same thing: to be together. They agree that in love, adults will have ups, downs, and life may feel sideways, but there is still a choice to stay together and let love win. Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn don’t mind doing the hard work to keep their love alive. Between them, they have four children, six grandchildren, and a lifetime of love left. While Kurt and Goldie have shared many birthdays and milestones, this 75th birthday surprise in the middle of a pandemic was not only thoughtful, it was sweet, modern, and a great surprise for the actress.
