In a truly despicable act, a six-year-old boy in Connecticut has been set on fire by an older prankster. Young Dominick Krankall was the victim of this horrific attack; having gasoline poured over a tennis ball and then lit before being thrown directly at his face. Thankfully he survived but not without receiving severe second and third-degree burns to both his legs and face. He is currently fighting through a harrowing recovery as we speak – no child should ever have to experience such cruelty!

“My six-year-old brother could’ve died. The kid covered a ball in gasoline, lit it on fire, and threw it at him. All in a matter of seconds,” Kayla Deegan, the victim’s sister wrote on a GoFundMe page. “He’s going to be scarred for life mentally and physically.”

On Louisiana Avenue in Bridgeport, Connecticut, young Dominick frolicked with his peers in the backyard of their shared family home. Unfortunately, one of them chose to engage in a fire which sparked a dangerous situation for all involved.

Deegan described how an eight-year-old, a neighbor of theirs, forced his way into the shed where he obtained gasoline and lighters. He then threw a tennis ball at Dominick’s face before running away to observe him burn. His sister commented that this bully had “ran away and watched him burn.”

Fortunate for young Dominick, he resides in close proximity to Connecticut Burn Center at Bridgeport Hospital, one of only sixty-two such highly specialized medical centers located throughout the US. John Cappiello, a spokesperson from the hospital where Dominic is being treated assures us that he “remains in fair condition.”

Deegan was incensed that her brother had been subjected to such a savage attack.

“(The assailant) has a history of bullying, and he has gotten away with too much. The mother thinks he is innocent. The family thinks it’s a joke,” Deegan said. “Even though Dominick can’t talk because he’s in a lot of pain and all swollen, he said to my mom, ‘Please don’t take me back there.’ This is extremely unfair and shouldn’t ever happen to ANY CHILD!!! We need justice for our little Dominick.”

Despite the severity of his misdeed, no charges have yet been brought against the eight-year-old perpetrator who hurtled a fireball at an unsuspecting six-year-olds face.

In an interview with NBC New York, Deegan communicated her desire for justice to be served concerning the attack on her brother and urged authorities to take action.

“It’s heartbreaking, it’s sickening to know the family. There’s nothing being done about this,” Deegan said. “This needs to be seen everywhere so everyone knows Dom’s story and what he had to go through, and the extent it went to for someone to hopefully do something.”

The family of Dominick is fervently hoping for his speedy recovery. To assist them in this endeavor, they have opened up an online donation portal that will help with the hospital expenses and provide a home where everyone can feel secure.

“It is not safe here. Anything helps, even a share. Thank you all for the support. I’m sure Dominick appreciates it,” the family said.
