Clint Eastwood and Sondra Locke were in a relationship for many years, but after her death at the age of 74, the truth about their relationship was revealed. Although they loved each other very much, things were not always perfect between Eastwood and his partner Locke. She battled cancer for a long time before she passed away at the beginning of November 2018.

Eastwood entered Locke’s life when she was already married; however, this didn’t stop him from trying to pursue her. Why? Because Locke wasn’t in a traditional marriage. In fact, her entire relationship broke social norms entirely. She had married her gay best friend out of love and they remained close friends until the day he died. Although she always loved him platonically.

Although their relationship ultimately proved to be unhealthy for both Eastwood and Locke, Locke remained with him for thirteen years. The couple dealt with public controversy over their love affair, as Eastwood was not always a good man to her. He forced her to have abortions twice, believing that having children out of wedlock would be improper.

Regardless, in the 1980s, Eastwood had children with Jacelyn Reeves. And when Locke learned of Eastwood’s conversion, their connection deteriorated dramatically.

In an interview with The Sun, Locke described how Eastwood wanted to control everything about their relationship, including birth control.

“Clint complained of the IUD – it was uncomfortable for him,” she said. “And he too was not in favor of birth control pills, so he suggested a special clinic at Cedars Hospital where they taught a ‘natural’ method of birth control.”

Because Locke got pregnant twice after using the “rhythm” approach, Clint Eastwood wanted her to get rid of it.

“Not only was I taught their method but I was constantly monitored with regular pregnancy checks. The whole process was awkward and entailed taking my temperature every morning and marking the calendar, etc. It was demanding, and ultimately it had failed twice.”

After years of mistreatment, Locke decided to get help from the law and file for palimony in 1989. The case ended out of court with a $1.5 million deal involving Warner Bros., but it was a scam. She filed another lawsuit against Eastwood for fraud soon after.

Sandra Locke has had a difficult life and career, which included much turmoil during her relationship with Clint Eastwood. Despite her abilities, she never received the credit she deserved.

Because she put her faith in Eastwood and believed he was the man she would spend the rest of her life with, she found out later that their relationship was not meant to continue. Nonetheless, losing Sondra Locke must have been a difficult situation for Eastwood.

May she find peace in the afterlife.
