In a bold move that underscores the Trump administration’s commitment to defending religious freedom and restoring law and order, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino has launched a full investigation into reports of targeted violence against Christians following a prayer rally in far-left Seattle.

The rally, held in Cal Anderson Park—a public space—was organized by a group of Christians as a peaceful protest and worship event. But as has become disturbingly common in Democrat-run cities, the event was met with mob violence from Antifa agitators. These masked radicals attacked worshippers, injuring multiple people—including police officers—and turning a prayer rally into a battleground.

Instead of condemning the violence, Seattle’s Democrat Mayor Bruce Harrell outrageously blamed the Christians for provoking it. In a tone-deaf statement, Harrell said the group came to “provoke a reaction” and “promote beliefs inherently opposed to our city’s values.” That’s right—according to Seattle’s leadership, standing up for Biblical values is now a criminal offense.

Fortunately, the days of Christians being demonized and ignored by the federal government are over.

In a strong statement on X (formerly Twitter), Bongino made it clear that this FBI is not Biden’s FBI. “We have asked our team to fully investigate allegations of targeted violence against religious groups at the Seattle concert,” he wrote. “Freedom of religion isn’t a suggestion.”

This marks a significant shift from the previous administration, where peaceful pro-life activists and Catholic churches were targeted by federal agents, while radical groups like Antifa and BLM were given free rein to riot, loot, and burn cities to the ground. Under President Trump, those days are gone.

Meanwhile, the facts about what happened in Seattle speak for themselves. Despite Mayor Harrell’s efforts to gaslight the public, 23 Antifa extremists were arrested. Seattle Police officers were hospitalized. And yet, somehow, Harrell had the gall to blame the victims.

One of the Christian organizers didn’t hold back in their response. “Mayor Harrell had the audacity to issue a press release blaming Christians for the premeditated violence of Antifa,” they said. “Under Harrell’s leadership, the city has continued its spiral into lawlessness while the First Amendment rights of citizens to peacefully assemble have been disregarded.”

Even more shocking, some progressive pastors joined the pile-on against their fellow Christians. Rev. Dr. Patricia L. Hunter, a Baptist pastor, accused the peaceful prayer rally attendees of “wrapping their hate in Christian speak” and claimed they didn’t reflect the love of Christ. Apparently, standing up for Biblical truth is now considered “bigotry” in the eyes of Seattle’s liberal elite clergy.

It’s clear what’s really happening: Christians are under attack—not just from violent radicals, but from the very institutions that are supposed to protect them.

Thankfully, the Trump administration isn’t standing by. With Dan Bongino leading the charge at the FBI, the days of Christians being treated like second-class citizens are over. Religious freedom is back—and this time, it’s being defended with the full force of federal law.
