Parents have a duty to safeguard their children. You protect them even before they are born. Even when their children, no matter how young or old, come into this world, parents continue to defend them. That’s all it is to being a parent. It’s something that every mother and father just does naturally.

However, this is not the case in every situation. Tracy Anderwald and her daughter, Allison, are a good example of this.

On one occasion, Allison discovered her mother in a life-threatening scenario. This all began when Tracy and Allison were hanging out at Tracy’s sister’s house. They had just been lounging by the swimming pool when Tracy had a seizure. She fell face-first into the water after blacking out in the middle of the pool. If no one comes to help her, she will drown if she falls face-first into the water in that situation.

Allison was there to assist her mother at just the right moment. Allison is only 5 years old, yet she knew exactly what to do. When faced with a similar scenario, some youngsters may become frightened and unsure of what to do.

Allison is clearly a bright kid. Even when her mother didn’t react, she maintained her composure. So she swam over to her and used all of her might to propel Tracy into the pool’s shallow end.

When she realized they were at a safe depth, the girl turned her mother’s body over so that her face was pointing towards the surface. Allison then rushed into the house to request assistance.

Fortunately, one of Allison’s aunts was there and she was the one who phoned 911. She then went to the pool to see if her sister was all right. It didn’t take long for emergency services to arrive, and Tracy was soon taken to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Memorial in Texas’ Corpus Christi city.

When she awoke in a hospital bed with no recollection of what occurred, Tracy was dumbfounded. But when she discovered that her 5-year-old daughter had saved her life, she was astonished. The family has surveillance video from which Tracy was able to view how wonderful her daughter was that day.

Tedra stated in an interview with ABC: “The doctors explained to us that had Tracy been underwater any longer, she probably wouldn’t be with us right now. It is truly amazing that this little girl, who’s actually also pretty small for her age, was able to save my sister.”

She continued, “The doctors were worried that Tracy might have brain damage or might not even make a full recovery, but thanks to Allison’s quick-thinking and life-saving actions, her mom was able to leave the hospital without any issues shortly after the ordeal. ”

It was incredible to see a 5-year-old save another person’s life. Allison benefited from learning how to swim at an early age. The family is hoping that their story would encourage others. Tracy and Allison’s tale is a testament to the importance of teaching youngsters how to swim, no matter how young or old they are.
