Conservatives have been shocked after a Yale School of Medicine lecturer claimed that they could assist children as young as three years old in their “gender journey” if they declared themselves to be transgender or gender non-binary. Christy Olezeski, the director and co-founder of the Yale Pediatric Gender Program, is at the helm, assisted by members of her staff who work with young children to get “medical intervention” if they do not identify as cisgender, which refers to individuals who don’t identify with the sex designated on their birth certificate.

Olezeski said she became interested in assisting young people on their gender journey after learning that society is not particularly welcoming to transgender individuals. However, she has enraged critics by proposing that her team give guidance to youngsters as young as three years old on whether or not they should seek “medical treatment” in order to transition from one gender to another. The Yale professor has also gone so far as to boast about how much she “loves” the work she does assist youngsters in following through with their intentions of changing genders.

The Yale professor said: “I love what I do, so it’s really, really wonderful to be working in this field and to be working with individuals who are gender diverse and gaining their support and helping them on their gender journeys.”

As Olezeski explains in the now-viral Yale School of Medicine video, her mission is to “provide comprehensive family-centered care for children, adolescents, and young adults questioning their assigned gender and/or seeking gender-affirming consultation.”

She continued: “I am the director of the Yale gender program, which is an interdisciplinary program working with gender-expansive individuals [ages] 3 to 25 and their families. We help individuals who are questioning their gender identity or who identify as transgender or non-binary, and we help them with their gender journey.”

The Yale website currently states that transgender surgery is an option for people eighteen and older. However, there is no information about what happens if a child hasn’t hit puberty yet. Puberty-blocking hormones are available and can be given to young children.

Critics have been extremely vocal in their opposition to Olezeski’s research at Yale.

“Three-YEAR-OLDS should not be led to change genders! Leave them alone,” director and producer Robby Starbuck wrote on Twitter.

“Society has lost its marbles,” said Arizona Republican Party Chair Dr. Kelli Ward.

“Kid’s memories are just starting to work at 3. Kids think they’re dinosaurs or a dog. There is no ‘gender journey’ at three. This is child abuse,” twetted the Hodge Twins comedy duo.

“I really want Christy Olezeski to tell me how a 3-year-old can have a gender identity crisis. Kids that young have no clue or even think about that when the last time you heard a three-year-old say, I’m a girl but feel like a boy or whatever,” said another person.
