On Monday, Washington D.C. witnessed a scene that would’ve dominated cable news if the political roles were reversed: a group of left-wing activists stormed a House committee hearing, disrupting official proceedings and clashing with Capitol Police — all under the convenient guise of protesting rumored Medicare cuts. But instead of condemnation, they were met with applause from Democrat lawmakers.

Roughly two dozen far-left agitators barged into the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s budget markup on May 13, reportedly upset about potential reforms to the bloated Medicare program. The irony? The same Democrats who have spent the last four years theatrically mourning January 6 — likening it to Pearl Harbor and 9/11 — had no problem with this blatant disruption of government business. In fact, they encouraged it.

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) went so far as to *thank* the protestors, an astonishing gesture that has sparked outrage from conservatives and exposed once again the staggering hypocrisy of the left.

Footage of the protest, which took place at the Rayburn House Office Building, quickly spread across social media. One conservative commentator wrote, “Democrat boomers are staging an insurrection and attempting to push their way through Capitol Police.” A fitting description, considering the frenzied hand-wringing we’ve heard from Democrats every time a conservative raises their voice near the Capitol steps.

Yet no tear gas, no SWAT teams, no media meltdown. Certainly no CNN anchors breathlessly whispering about “our democracy under attack.” And of course, no jail time for these liberal protestors.

This double standard did not go unnoticed. One commenter quipped, “Interesting that they can do this and not get shot like Ashli Babbitt, not get arrested like J6ers, not be called insurrectionists like Trump supporters.” Another sarcastically added, “This is worse than Pearl Harbor! Worse than 9/11! Lock them all up! Am I doing this right?”

While Democrats and their media allies cheered this protest as brave “resistance,” conservatives know what’s really going on. These protestors aren’t defending Medicare — they’re defending waste, fraud, and abuse within a broken system. The GOP has made it clear: reforms are aimed at accountability, not gutting benefits. But Democrats, desperate to cling to their narrative of Republican cruelty, staged a cheap performance — complete with senior citizens howling in committee rooms — to mislead the public.

One social media user hit the nail on the head: “They want people on Medicaid to believe Republicans are slashing the program. The truth? They’re cutting corruption. These geriatric clowntards are lying as usual.”

The most disturbing part? When Democrats condone and celebrate illegal disruptions of Congress — and then turn around and criminalize political opposition when it comes from the right — they erode every remaining shred of trust in our institutions.

If trespassing in a federal building is treason when it’s a conservative, it better be treason when a Democrat does it, too.

But we all know the rules don’t apply equally in Biden’s America.
