Robert Redford is a well-known figure in the film world. He has been in several blockbusters and is noted for his fiery red hair and amazing talents. Today, Robert delivered some terrible news regarding his family. James, Robert’s son, died at his home in Marin County, California, at age 58.
Kyle James announced her husband’s death to the press. He died of bile-duct cancer, which he had been suffering from since November 2017.
For years, James had been dealing with health issues. He was diagnosed with a uncommon auto-immune disease called primary sclerosing cholangitis and received two transplants in the 1990s to assist his body fight the illness.
He was given the bad news three years ago, and he decided to get a third transplant. When doctors went over his case before the transplant, they discovered cancer.
Kyle paid a beautiful tribute to her late husband in memoriam. “As his wife of 32 yrs, I’m most grateful for the two spectacular children we raised. I don’t know what we would’ve done w/o them over the past 2yrs.”
A Robert Redford representative also offered a statement: “The grief is immeasurable with the loss of a child. Jamie was a loving son, husband and father. His legacy lives on through his children, art, filmmaking and devoted passion to conservation and the environment.”
Dylan, 29, and Lena (a lovely actress), 23, are James’ children with Kyle.
