Amanda Cox is an excellent preschool teacher who always has her students’ best interests at heart. Since teaching young children how to interact with the world around them through words, numbers, colors, and shapes are Amanda’s top priority, she makes sure that every day in her classroom is focused on learning. Unfortunately, like many teachers across America, Amanda doesn’t receive enough government funding for her school and has to get creative to find ways to get the resources she needs.

When she was distributing pencils to her favorite pupils one day, Cox realized the government had not provided her with enough money to purchase enough of them. There was a little kid in her class who typically had extra pencils. She asked him if she could borrow some of his pencils so that the rest of the children could participate in class. He agreed on the condition that she would make sure his supplies were returned by the end of the day.

As Cox began sharpening the pencils, she saw that they were covered in red writing. These messages on the pencils were inspiring affirmations to remind the boy how special and unique he was. The messages inspired Cox as well because they also had uplifting sayings like “You are so talented,” “This will be a great year,” and “You are creative.”

After seeing that this youngster’s pencils had affirmations written on them, Cox went up to him and looked at the rest of his writing instruments. Every pencil he owned was inscribed with an encouraging quote.

“Never give up.” “You can do this.” “You are very knowledgeable.”

The boy’s parents had gone above and beyond to make sure his pencils were perfect for school. Cox could tell that they loved him deeply and wanted him to do well in school.

This youngster’s parent was overjoyed to learn that this boy felt cherished and recognized. She posted a photo of the pencils on Facebook, along with a few uplifting words, to show how this kid’s parents enhanced his life with a few simple words.

“Thanks to his mom, he was reminded of his self-worth and wanted to share the same feeling with his classmates,” said Amanda Cox.

The following are the messages that were written on the pencils:
