Getting a tattoo is a serious commitment. Because tattoos are permanent, you must be 100% sure that you want to get one. Tattoos also might be costly and time-consuming to remove. Some individuals, like this teen father, have tattoos that they can’t live without.

19-year-old Auckland resident, Kim Cropp, was sentenced to two years and three months in jail for pulling a knife during a botched drug transaction. He was thus compelled to leave his partner and young daughter behind while he served his sentence. Then, one night in the cell they shared together, the brothers got intoxicated on home brew created from fermented apples, bread, and sugar.

Mark and his brother decided to tattoo his name on his face while severely intoxicated. He stated, “Once it started, I thought, I can’t go back on it now. I wish I had stopped while the outline was there to be quite honest. Before I knew it I had this on my face… It was swollen like a bloody pumpkin.”

Mark got the tattoo on his face the next morning, and it read “Devast8.” The tattoo, however, was not something he was proud of.

Later, when speaking with Daily Mail Australia, he said, “You know there was a long time there where I would devastate everything I touched. I would end up devastating everyone I met or got close to. They would be disappointed with something I had done or said – I was always hearing ‘that’s devastating.’”

The tattoo covers his jaw and lower half of his face. His brother did it, but it also became one of his most notorious blunders in a short time. Simply because it had a significant impact on his future.

He was unemployed for two months after being released from prison. He needed to find a job as soon as possible because he has a family to support. Employers were quickly turned off by Mark’s tattoo, even though he had previous employment experience. Because of his face tattoo, no one would hire him because of his prior work history.

He was so dissatisfied with his tattoo that he wanted it gone as quickly as possible. He couldn’t discover anyone, on the other hand, who would help him remove this tattoo from his face. It is a difficult process that will require numerous laser removal treatments over a long period of time. Also, he won’t be able to afford it.

Mark knew he needed to seek assistance this time. And, having nowhere else to go, Mark looked to Facebook.

A desperate father posted a photo of himself with his controversial facial tattoo. He requested assistance from the public in finding a job, hoping for a fresh start. Surprisingly, his message went viral quickly after he published it, thanks to the internet’s interest.

People have been forwarding his message on social media, with many people seeing it. Then a worker at an Auckland-based tattoo shop, Sacred Tattoo, saw Mark’s Facebook post. They decided to accept the challenge and make a substantial difference in Mark’s life by getting rid of his face tattoo!

Furthermore, his public plea for work went viral, resulting in him getting a job with a scaffolding company called PR Contracting, where he made $22 per hour.
