Sharon Osbourne announced her retirement from “The Talk” last year when she defended her friend Piers Morgan against Meghan Markle’s criticism. Morgan, a former British presenter, and talking head was accused of making racist remarks about Markle’s role in the Royal Family and was fired as a consequence. Now Osbourne has broken her silence and made it clear that she will never return to television because the culture of quitting has made it “not a safe place to be.”

“Right now, it’s not a safe place to be. Because the slightest thing, the slightest word, and you’ve pissed off half the nation,” she said. “I don’t want to put myself up for that grief; I really don’t.”

Sharon Osbourne says she’s been “blacklisted” and has been warned that expressing her opinion may cost her job. Sharon also pointed out how much things have changed, remarking, “You can’t say anything anymore without people wanting to cancel you because of your political beliefs or what you want to do with their family.”

Sharon said if she was correct or incorrect, she would have been condemned by the public and dismissed.

Sharon continued: “You’re not even allowed to say what you really think anymore.”

She thinks it’s a dangerous position to be in because no one knows who they might offend next, and there isn’t any freedom of speech. Sharon stated that she was growing up there were no restrictions and that you were permitted to say whatever you wanted. Sharon stated: “You couldn’t do a talk show today unless it’s by invitation only.”

Sharon added: “I don’t want to name names, but a lot of people thought they were going to get away with it… there is no way I could return now.” Sharon said that she was concerned about the protection and safety of her family, adding that she didn’t want to get into any more trouble. “I will never be on television ever again.”

Sharon Osbourne is pleased with the way things are now because it’s a lot simpler for women in general, but she doesn’t have much time for TV these days. Sharon is still very busy with her family and “The Talk,” but she’s been reading scripts for movies and TV shows to keep herself entertained recently.

“I’m not actually looking at returning to television any time soon.”

Sharon Osbourne says she won’t change her mind. Sharon is happy where she is now, and it does not appear that she wants to return to television anytime soon. More producers are willing to listen than ever before, according to Sharon Osbourne.

“I’m really happy with that because I still think I’m pretty good at it. You can’t say anything anymore without people wanting to cancel you because of your political beliefs or what you want to do with their family.”

“It was a freedom of speech matter. It was pure freedom of speech,” Osbourne told Daily Mail. “A journalist friend of mine who wrote something that people didn’t like and then a few crazies out there, some thugs go -‘you must be racist, that’s why you’re saying it’ – about my friend Piers. It’s like, come on.”
