To no one’s surprise, Meghan Markle’s recognition has dramatically diminished internationally and in the United States. Astonishingly though, Kate Middleton is more than twice as popular amongst Americans compared to her sister-in-law. Despite being an American herself and marrying into British royalty, it appears that people from the US prefer their allegiance towards Britain rather than honoring a homegrown hero such as Meghan Markle.
Recent polls conducted by The Sun depicted quite a significant difference in the preferences of Americans; with an overwhelming majority of 68.2 percent favoring Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge over Meghan Markle—only 31 percent chose to favor the American-born duchess. It is clear that Kate Middleton has earned her place as America’s favorite sister-in-law!
Later this year, the prospects of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle’s popularity may take another plunge as Prince William and Kate Middleton are set to make their first visit to the United States in six years. Royal fanatics eagerly await what awaits during their stay, along with any potential reunion between brothers Harry and William or whether they’d rather keep a distance.
To unravel why Middleton’s fame so strikingly outshines Markle’s, American royal commentator Christopher Andersen offered an exclusive perspective.
“Kate has become an even bigger superstar without ever setting foot here,” Royal commentator Andersen stated. “She embodies everything Americans expect in a princess destined to become Queen — beauty, grace, regal bearing, and the ability to connect. Whatever royal scandal is making headlines, the Duchess of Cambridge sails above it all.”
Other authorities contend that Markle’s ambitions were never going to be met by the British aristocracy since such a privilege can not be granted from one person to another; it simply does not exist.
Royal expert, Kinsey Schofield, stated: “Meghan wanted to be the Queen of America. But she’s never been less popular.”
Markle’s reputation has taken a few hard blows since 2021. Topping the list of course is her and Prince Harry’s jaw-dropping decision to step away from their royal roles, which sent shockwaves around the world. Not long after, reports surfaced that Meghan had failed to form meaningful relationships with those on her staff – some even chose to quit or request transfers out of her team entirely due to discontentment.
Comparatively, accolades are heaped upon Kate for her exemplary conduct when interacting with personnel. In fact, a former butler even stated that she was “the best boss he ever had.”
As Markle and Prince Harry were absent in Africa on their holiday getaway in 2017, Kate stayed at a farmhouse located in Norfolk accompanied by her children and staff. It was also reported that she personally assisted with household chores such as loading the dishwasher while spending quality time with those closest to her.
While speaking at a nearby school near Anmer Hall, she proclaimed that the farmhouse was “where I feel more like myself than anywhere else in the world.”
It’s obvious that Kate Middleton is far more accessible and has a better rapport with staff than Meghan Markle. Americans prefer the former because she comes across as genuine, in stark contrast to the latter who appears to be overreaching in her attempts at being someone else.
