Many individuals have complained that consuming Lucky Charms causes them to become ill. Customers have been complaining about feeling sick after eating the popular breakfast cereal, Lucky Charms. The government has gotten involved as a result of so many people expressing their concerns over whether or not it is safe to eat the product or if it should be recalled. Because hundreds of persons – more than one hundred people – have complained about illnesses following consumption of the breakfast cereals, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has launched an investigation.
The Food and Drug Administration issued an urgent warning this week, alerting consumers that Lucky Charms cereal has caused dozens of illnesses since the start of the year.
“The FDA takes seriously any reports of possible adulteration of a food that may also cause illnesses or injury,” the agency said in a statement to the public.
An FDA spokesperson continued, “The agency is currently reviewing and investigating these reports.”
The majority of people don’t get sick from mass-produced breakfast cereals. The reason for this is that most baked goods are cooked in such a way. Cereal, on the other hand, can become tainted with germs after it’s baked – particularly if it’s glazed with sugar covering. It can also become contaminated during transit within its packaging.
Many hundreds of individuals have expressed on iwaspoisoned.com that they got so ill after consuming Lucky Charms that they began to vomit or were nauseated or had diarrhea.
An Ohio resident said, “This is actually my second time experiencing symptoms after eating Lucky Charms, and I am certain it is the cause.”
The following are examples of consumer complaints:
“Having extreme abdominal pains time, I am holding on to the remaining cereal left in the Box and hoping to get it tested soon!” a Lucky Charms customer stated.
“My son ate the Lucky Charms, and later that day, he was ill. It comes out of nowhere lasted for a couple of days,” said a person from North Carolina.
“I had Lucky Charms for breakfast. After that, about an hour or so later, I got diarrhea and bad gas,” said another person from Pittsburgh, PA.
One resident of Rochester, NY complained: “Ate Lucky Charms for breakfast on 4/12 and 4/13. I started feeling very nauseous and bloated to the point where it felt I was in a big bear hug. On 4/15 continued to feel nauseous, and then diarrhea began. First, it looked like chicken noodle soup. Then it was like I had taken preparation for a colonoscopy! Looked like muddy water was gushing out.”
According to the founder of iwaspoisoned.com, nearly 3,000 individuals have contacted him alleging that they became ill after eating Lucky Charms.
“We have had an unusually high number of reports for this product, which is why we have reached out to the FDA,” he stated.
The FDA has not yet issued a formal recall for Lucky Charms, since the allegations have not been fully resolved. However, if you still have any of this cereal in your pantry, you should get rid of it as soon as possible. When it comes to food poisoning, being cautious is always a good idea. No one wants to be sick in bed or go to the restroom every five minutes during the day.
