Last week, renowned composer Andrew Llyod Webber surprisingly announced that he would not be attending the opening night of his new Broadway production “Bad Cinderella” due to an urgent family situation. In light of this pressing predicament, he decided that prioritizing his family was far more important than being present at.
Andrew Lloyd Webber, age 75, recently devastating news son Nicholas “Nick” Lloyd Webber has been hospitalized due to stomach cancer. According to Mr.Webber’s announcement, Nick is in critical condition.
On March 23rd, 2023, the debut night of “Bad Cinderella” was a success and Webber took to Instagram to express his gratitude for all the “outpouring of support” he and Nick received. Furthermore, he informed us that Nick had been transferred to hospice care. He said, “I think he’s over the worst of this first bout of pneumonia he’s got as a result of his cancer, which is just ghastly.”
Webber went on to say that he and his family have come together in support of Nick. Additionally, he wished the cast of “Bad Cinderella” luck during their debut night. He stated, “I’m absolutely gutted not to be able to be there, but my place is really here in England, at the moment.”
To cap off his video, he expressed gratitude to all the Ukrainians who gifted him with a “Cats” t-shirt. He said, “They’ve been performing ‘Cats’ there in a bunker and just a makeshift production.” He was touched to see that the Ukrainians showed so much care and consideration toward him.
On a somber Saturday, March 25th of 2023, Webber sadly reported that his son had succumbed to cancer. In a statement, he said: “I am shattered to have to announce that my beloved elder son Nick died a few hours ago in Basingstoke Hospital.”
The prodigious Webber, who was only 43 years old at the time of his passing, had established himself as a talented composer and record producer.
