Former Minnesota Vikings star Jack Brewer is not backing down in his fight for fairness in women’s sports, especially when it comes to the state’s controversial stance on transgender athletes. Brewer, who also played at the University of Minnesota, has spoken out strongly against Governor Tim Walz’s opposition to the “Preserving Girls’ Sports Act,” a bill that bans transgender athletes from competing in women’s sports in the state.

This bill, which passed the Minnesota House Education Policy Committee on February 20, 2025, would effectively prevent biologically male athletes from participating in women’s sports in Minnesota. While the bill is expected to clear the Minnesota House of Representatives on March 3, 2025, many conservatives, including Brewer, fear that Governor Walz, who has been a staunch supporter of transgender rights, will veto the legislation if it reaches his desk.

Brewer, who has been a vocal advocate for fairness in athletics, wasted no time in slamming Walz for his stance. The former football star pointed out that Walz, who was once a high school football coach, should understand the importance of protecting women’s sports but is instead choosing to side with the left-wing agenda. Brewer didn’t hold back when speaking to Fox News Digital, saying, “It’s absolutely disgusting, and it’s why, when you see him and you see his mannerisms and the way he carries himself, you know this guy doesn’t appeal to real men and boys who have battled it out on the gridiron, man.”

Brewer, who has fought hard for what he believes to be fair and just, made it clear that he shares nothing in common with Governor Walz, calling him “a disgrace to the football world.” Brewer pointed out that Walz, a former coach, should be more understanding of the integrity of competitive sports, especially for women, who are increasingly being sidelined by the growing trend of allowing male athletes to compete in female divisions. He made it clear that his opposition to Walz isn’t just about politics—it’s about protecting young girls and women from having their hard-won opportunities taken away from them by those who don’t understand the real fight for equality.

However, Brewer isn’t just content with voicing his criticism—he’s willing to engage. He expressed a willingness to meet with Walz and have a respectful conversation about the bill. Brewer said, “When I get there on Monday, if he would invite me in his office and have a conversation about this, I would respectfully accept it.” He believes that if given the opportunity to speak with the governor, he could make Walz understand the real impact of his stance on this issue.

Brewer further speculated that Walz’s actions were more about political ambition than deeply held beliefs. “I think deep down in his heart he knows it’s wrong,” Brewer said, suggesting that the governor’s opposition to the bill is less about his personal conviction and more about appeasing a far-left liberal base and raising campaign funds. Brewer pointed to the significant financial backing from LGBTQ groups in Minnesota, which he believes is driving Walz’s position.

For many conservatives, this debate is not just about sports—it’s about fairness, integrity, and protecting the future of women’s opportunities in athletics. Brewer’s bold statements shine a light on the growing divide between those who want to keep women’s sports fair and competitive and those who seem willing to compromise these values for political gain.

As the fight over the “Preserving Girls’ Sports Act” continues, Brewer remains a fierce advocate for the women who deserve to compete on a level playing field. Only time will tell whether Walz will stand with the values of fairness or continue to appease the extreme left.
