If you’ve ever watched reality shows, then you’ve probably seen Simon Cowell. He is known for his harsh remarks and his honesty when it comes to musicians and people who perform other talents.

When he lost his mother to cancer, Simon softened his image a bit. In 2010, he witnessed an 80-year-old woman take to the stage. No one believed she had what it takes to sing and be a success, but when she gets about halfway through her set, she takes the audience by surprise.

Janey Cutler wanted to show the world that age doesn’t affect how someone sings. She was told by many people that she was a good singer. No one really believed it because she rarely sung for anyone else.

The great-grandmother walked onto the stage of “Britain’s Got Talent” to show the judges what she could do with her voice. Simon doesn’t start out well when he hears that it’s someone older singing a song.

When he sees that the woman is a grandmother, he changes his tune and begins to listen to the voice.

Janey is auditioning because she likes to sing and likes the show. At the end of her song, the audience is applauding and standing on their feet.
