At Jessica Hanley’s bat mitzvah, guests knew they were in for a good time. Not only had the event been talked up for weeks at school and among friends, but visitors also understood how devoted Jessica was to music and having a good time. Few people, though, knew that Jess’ father was as passionate about music as his daughter – or maybe even more so – which is why when they witnessed what this father-daughter pair had planned for the visitors at the party, they were astonished and pulled out their phones.

The party was a surprise for both Mike and Jessica. Her mother, on the other hand, had spent months or weeks preparing for her bat mitzvah. They studied diligently to be able to WOW the people at the party with their dance moves. However, they recognized that in order to surprise everyone, they would have to take them by surprise. That’s why, before performing “My Girl” by The Temptations, they started out with a typical slow dance. This allowed them to do a monotonous slow dance that would be immediately forgotten about when the next song began blasting through the speakers.

The DJ switched up the music and played Whitney Houston’s legendary song “Do You Wanna Dance,” which is exactly when things started to get really strange.

However, they weren’t done yet. Faithtap wrote that they cycled through Lou Bega’s “Mambo No. 5,” LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem,” the Jackson Five’s “I Want You Back,” Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face,” Grease’s”Greased Lightning” from the film, and Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” 50 Cent’S “In Da Club” blasted out of the speakers as the father-daughter pair concluded their incredible performance with a return to the song, “My Girl.”

Is Mike Hanley someone you know? He was the father in this film, and he’s also a professional comedian. You may have seen Mike perform a stand-up act since 1989 – how else would they have afforded this party?

Mike quit comedy in 2000 after deciding to focus on his family full-time. However, he could not completely abandon his career as a comedian. Despite the fact that he had three children to raise, he resumed his profession as a comic in 2011. Mike has been performing for small gatherings at malls and comedy clubs in order to promote his name while his wife works.

The clip has since been viewed 21.6 million times. The family has disabled comments on the video to avoid hearing any unpleasant things about their father-daughter pair. Most people, though, find it charming.

Hanley’s website wrote, “Mike Hanley’s unique style of high energy, full-tilt comedy has left audiences all over erupting in laughter. If you are married, you will laugh at Mike’s hysterical stories. If you are single, you will want to stay that way for the rest of your life. From relationships to kids to the day to day grind, Mike has a story that will be sure to have you on the edge of your seat. There is no mistaking Mike’s trademark intensity the minute he hits the stage.”
