After Chip and Joanna Gaines announced their deal with HBO Max, fans were eager to find out more. The couple is famous for their work on HGTV, and now they will have content available on the streaming giant. This news has left many people excited and curious about what the future holds.

The news that the couple who used to star on HGTV and are known for their home repair shows and successful Magnolia Network are going to try streaming with HBO Max has gotten their fans very excited, as reported in Variety on August 4.

The Gaineses debuted the Magnolia Channel last year in partnership with Discovery. Soon after, it received recognition from Decider as a top 25 basic cable network. This was followed by five Emmy nominations.

Recently, WarnerMedia and Discovery merged. Therefore, the current decision to put the Gaines’ content on HBO Max is one of the first attempts to compile WarnerMedia and Discovery’s separate content libraries. Even though not all of the Gaines’ shows will be available on HBO Max by September, some of their most beloved series with fans will be part of the initial offerings.

What will be available to stream on HBO Max?

From 2014 to 2018, the Gaineses ran their signature show on HGTV called “Fixer Upper.” In addition, they have also done other shows such as “Fixer Upper: Welcome Home,” “Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines,” and “The Lost Kitchen.”

Apart from the new series, “The Castle,” which is set to air on October 14th on Magnolia Network, HBO Max, and Discovery+, many viewers are also highly anticipating its release. According to Variety, “The Castle” will follow the Gaines’ story as they renovate their castle situated in Waco, Texas which was built back in the early 1900s.

The Gaineses said in a statement to Decider, “It’s always been our desire to highlight inspiring, authentic storytelling on Magnolia Network. We’re excited to be able to share these stories now with an even wider audience. We can’t wait to bring these stories we love — including our next adventure, Fixer Upper: The Castle — to HBO Max this September.”

People from HBO Max are eagerly waiting to see the couple’s work, as it has been famous.

Casey Bloys, chief content officer for HBO and HBO Max, stated, “Chip and Jo are without a doubt the most beloved duo in the home renovation and lifestyle space, with a legion of fans who have followed them from Fixer Upper to the launch of their very own network.” They added, “We’re so excited to welcome them to the HBO Max family.”

Some people believe that adding the Gaines family to HBO Max was a final attempt to rescue WarnerMedia’s streaming service. AV Club wrote, “If only the Gaineses could take a swing at fixing up WarnerMedia’s financial strategy and rescue one of the best streaming services out there.”

The addition of the Gaines content to the new streaming service has everyone eager to see how it will do when fall comes around.
