On Fox News, Caitlyn Jenner has taken on a brand-new role as a guest contributor. “Caitlyn’s story is an inspiration to us all,” said Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott of the decision.

The hiring comes amid criticism from several stars of the network that The Walt Disney Company is opposing a Florida law that prohibits children in kindergarten through third grade from discussing their sexual orientation or gender identity in class. Critics have dubbed the legislation the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, and it was just signed into law by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

The Fox News Channel announced on Tuesday that Caitlyn Jenner, the reality television star and former Republican candidate for governor of California, will make her paid television debut on Thursday as a contributor.

Scott said, “She is a trailblazer in the LGBTQ+ community and her illustrious career spans a variety of fields that will be a tremendous asset for our audience.” Scott also said that Jenner “will offer commentary and analysis across Fox News Channel programming and various Fox News Media platforms.”

She will make her television debut on March 31, 2022, when Sean Hannity’s primetime talk show on Fox News Channel airs.

Jenner stated, “I am humbled by this unique opportunity to speak directly to Fox News Media’s millions of viewers about a range of issues that are important to the American people.”

Jenner has come under fire from liberals for supporting Republican positions on identity issues, despite her activism for transgender people in the United States.

After defending Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ stance on transgender swimmer Lia Thomas, Kim Kardashian openly supported him for his views on transgender rights. By the time Emma Weyant of the University of Virginia won the NCAA 500-yard women’s title a few weeks ago, she was already known as “the new Lia Thomas.” She was born and raised in Sarasota, Florida, where she placed second to Lia Thomas by 1.75 seconds.

DeSantis twitted: “By allowing men to compete in women’s sports, the NCAA is destroying opportunities for women, making a mockery of its championships, and perpetuating a fraud. In Florida, we reject these lies and recognize Sarasota’s Emma Weyant as the best women’s swimmer in the 500y freestyle.”

Jenner responded on Twitter: “@GovRonDeSantis agreed! She is the rightful winner! It’s not transphobic or anti-trans, it’s COMMON SENSE!”

Catlyn is most recognized for her ties to the Kardashian-Jenner family. Jenner appeared in “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” which aired alongside his ex-wife Kris Jenner. Kendall and Kylie Jenner are the children of Kris and Caitlyn. Jenner is also the father of four other kids from previous relationships.

In 2015, Jenner appeared in the documentary series “I Am Cait,” which discussed her transition. And Jenner attempted to run for governor of California last year, but she was unsuccessful.

In 2022, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation named Fox Corp., the parent company of Fox News, one of the “best places to work for LGBTQ equality.” A spokesperson for the Human Rights Campaign said that companies are evaluated every year and declined to comment on Jenner’s employment or the Fox News segments.
