Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who claims to be a progressive Democrat, is prepared to pay a reasonable sum of money for her appearance. With the title of the youngest ever woman elected to Congress on her shoulders, Ocasio-Cortez has a lot to prove – and looking good helps make a powerful statement. However, it has since been revealed that Ocasio-Cortez spent $250 on a hair salon visit recently in The Bronx in New York City, making her the first Democratic Congresswoman from The Bronx in New York City.

During her visit to the salon, Ocasio-Cortez paid $180 for lowlights and an additional $80 for a haircut at the Last Tangle Salon in downtown Washington, D.C. Everyone knows that having your hair done is not cheap, but what Ocasio-Cortez has done to her hair is comparable to what one would anticipate a movie star’s start to cost.

The Washington Times investigated Ocasio-Cortez’s beauty regimen, as well as her propensity to leave a generous gratuity. She gave a 20% tip for $52 total. For the hair salon service, Ocasio-Cortez spent $312 with the services and tips included in the final bill.

Critics charge that this purchase demonstrates that she is a hypocrite when it comes to her socialist beliefs. That’s why, in an effort to make the native of The Bronx and representative from a hectic district in New York City appear bad, the President of Americans for Limited Government, Richard Manning, went through a lengthy procedure.

“There is nothing wrong with spending money to make yourself look better, especially as a personality who depends upon visual mediums for her make power,” Manning said. He continued, “But it is a bad look to spend hundreds of dollars to get your hair done to make a video decrying income inequality.”

When asked by the Washington Times for a reaction, Ocasio-Cortez ignored them. Her staff did not respond to numerous calls from the magazine demanding more information about her beauty routine.

Although she didn’t expressly refer to it, Ocasio-Cortez took aim at Mike Pence and his role as chairman of the Coronavirus Task Force on Twitter.

She wrote, “Won’t you look at that: Mike Pence used *taxpayer funds* – not personal ones – to spend several thousand haircuts’ worths of public money on a visit to Trump golf courses.”

She continued, “I wonder if Republicans care about corruption as much as they care about a woman’s cut & color.”

Some individuals believe that Ocasio-Cortez is the victim of sexism because she is being targeted for her trip to a Washington, D.C. beauty salon. Men are never criticized for where they get their hair cut.

Jessica Valenti said, “1) this would obvs never be a story about a man 2) this is not an expensive haircut/color for a public figure who is frequently on TV 3) if her hair was raggedy, that would be the lead story instead.”
