There’s even a special case in Rome, Georgia; soon enough the happy couple will welcome their new bundle of joy!
At the ripe age of 62, Cheryl McGregor is determined to add another member to her family. Along with her much younger 25-year-old husband Quran McCain and their seven children, they plan to fully welcome a baby into their home located in Rome, Georgia – making it an eighth for Mrs.McGregor! The couple is filled with joy over the prospect of having their first child together.
Speaking to the news anchors on This Morning, McGregor excitedly discussed her and Quran McCain’s big plans of growing their family through surrogacy. With the help of a surrogate mother, they are eager to bring into this world their shared child.
McGregory and McCain faced an immense challenge in finding the perfect surrogate to bring their baby into the world, yet it was nothing compared to convincing relatives and friends of their seemingly unorthodox union. An older woman married to a younger man? Interracial couple? In Georgia – with its history steeped in racism – this hardly seems like something that would be accepted by most people. But despite all odds, they persisted until those around them embraced them for exactly who they are: two passionate individuals with great love between them.
“It’s been a battle with them, us trying to prove to them that it wasn’t a joke,” McGregor said. “Out of my seven children, they were saying he was using me. We weren’t using each other. We can’t help who our hearts fall in love with. So it’s been a battle. Out of seven of my children, I really have two but one who really stands by us through everything, and it took a while to come to that conclusion that they like him.”
The couple, who is dedicated to uniting their first child into the world, are going all-in on garnering attention for their situation. Seizing every opportunity they can, McGregory and McCain have been traveling across the nation talking with talk show hosts in order to increase awareness of this unique case and gain more advocates. To further his reach even wider than that which he has already achieved – a staggering 20 thousand followers -McCain has also taken up using TikTok as an outlet for sharing videos about his cause.
Although the spotlight has put a lot of pressure on their bond, if they’re truly devoted to each other then with mutual understanding and compassion, no storm should break down what they have.
“We are just going to keep living our lives because we are happy, we are very much happy, this is a happy, healthy marriage, we are looking to start our family, and that’s all we got,” McCain stated.
