On October 11, 2022, Claire McKenna sent a text message to her parents that said she needed help urgently. The young woman’s body was found in a bush in Queens, New York City on October 12, 2022, less than 24 hours after her parents last heard from her.

McKenna’s father now requests that American authorities take his daughter’s death more seriously and not just write it off as another drug overdose in New York City. The body of an aspiring 26-year-old singer was found in Queens Village on 94th Avenue and 214 Street. She was discovered by a passerby who then alerted the authorities.

The McKenna family was fully aware that their daughter Claire did not use hard drugs. She had a medical cannabis card, which is legal in New York State. However, she wasn’t one to harder drugs such as heroin or crack and meth.

McKenna’s father, Derek, spoke to the New York Post and said that American authorities should not rule out foul play in his daughter’s death. He strongly believes that there is more to her death than a simple drug overdose.

The medical examiner’s office gave a terse response to Daily Mail, saying only that “The cause and manner of death remain under investigation. That is the extent of a comment our office can offer.”

In hopes of finding justice for their 26-year-old aspiring singer daughter, McKenna’s family is offering a $35,000 reward to anyone who has information leading to a conviction.

“The family of Claire McKenna of Astoria, New York, is offering a reward of $35,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction concerning the death of Claire McKenna.”

“On Tuesday morning, October 11, 2022, at 3:11 am, the McKenna family received a text from their beloved daughter, Claire requesting ‘help,’ and advising them that the battery on her cellphone was dying. On Wednesday morning, October 12, 2022, at approximately 4:30 am (over twenty-four hours after the text was sent by Claire), a man, fully covered with a mask and dark clothes, was captured on videotape pushing Claire’s body in a dolly and was caught dumping her body in a bush located in 94th Avenue and 214th Street, Queens, New York.”

Claire was described by her family as “five feet, five inches tall, weighed 115 pounds, and was twenty-six years old. Other than the video which captured the man pushing Claire for five blocks, other evidence was recovered at the scene. The McKenna family is requesting assistance from the public with any information that may lead to the identification and apprehension of the man observed pushing Claire’s body in the dolly.”

McKenna’s uncle and godfather Nigel stated that Claire’s death was absolutely devastating for her parents, Derek and Deidre. This is in addition to McKenna’s older sisters Mary and Julia.

“She had spoken to my brother on Monday morning, October 10th and everything was fine. We are all devastated.”
