A young woman from Belarus was severely injured in a job interview. During her employment interview, Umida Nazarova’s hair was caught in a factory machine, which damaged her pregnancy. The machine was so powerful that it ripped part of Umida’s hair and scalp off her head. In Borisov, Belarus, where she was interviewing for a position to assist produce welding wire and electrodes, Umida had an accident while visiting Svarmet’s plant.
The pregnant woman’s hair got caught in a machine during a senior team member’s tour. The equipment kept operating until Umida’s hair wrapped around her neck and began strangling her, leaving her covered in blood in a matter of seconds.
Her mother Olga stated: “Her throat was injured, according to the doctor. Her hair got wrapped around her neck, and she was pulled into the mechanism. If her scalp had not been torn off, she would have been strangled there and then by her own hair.”
Umida never woke up after the terrible factory accident. Because of the death, her family’s hearts were destroyed.
Dmitry the father of the kidnapped girl feels that safety procedures at the firm were violated when his daughter was taken on her tour.
“They took two lives. She was seven weeks pregnant. They saw she had long hair, so why didn’t they give her something to cover it?”
The Belarus Investigative Committee condemned Umida’s death, noting that it came as a result of her road accident: “An employee, who was showing her how the equipment operates, paused to make a record in a register. When she turned her head, she saw the woman already lying on the floor unconscious. Her hair was tangled in the machine.”
The Belarus plant reimbursed the funeral expenses for Umida, giving her family some consolation during a difficult period for everyone.
The victim’s mother, Olga, stated, “She wanted to become a mother. We wanted to celebrate her wedding and collect a grandson or granddaughter from the hospital, not this. This is not what I wanted for my child.”
A court in Belarus determined that the plant’s unnamed production head should be held accountable for the calamity.
The production leader has been given a prison sentence for “failure to fulfill her official duties due to dishonest and negligent attitude…causing the death of a person.”
The family of the murdered woman is still seeking answers about what happened that led to her death. Dmitry, the father of the slain girl, stated: ” I want to see those responsible for what happened held accountable.”
While we may never know all of the details surrounding Umida’s death, there is one thing we do know: the accident was traumatic, and it will be remembered by her family for a long time to come.
