Dan Bongino has blown the lid off yet another example of left-wing media dishonesty—this time catching Mediaite red-handed fabricating a headline that claimed he admitted to “lying for money.” And as usual, once the receipts were laid out, Mediaite’s narrative collapsed faster than Joe Biden trying to climb stairs.

Here’s what actually happened.

During an appearance with Sean Hannity, Bongino talked about his past work as a podcaster and commentator. He simply explained that, in the past, he was paid to give opinions—like every host and commentator in America. Now, however, as Deputy Director of the FBI, he’s paid to present facts, not commentary. Pretty straightforward.

But the far-left website Mediaite decided to twist that into something outrageous. Their headline claimed he admitted to “lying for money and will likely do it again,” a quote that **Bongino never said**. In fact, the supposed “quote” in their headline wasn’t a quote at all—it came from a random tweet inside their article.

That tweet, posted by left-wing media reporter Joe Perticone, falsely paraphrased Bongino saying, “Deputy FBI director says he lied for money and will likely do it again in the future.” Mediaite then slapped that into a headline as if Bongino himself uttered those words.

That’s not journalism. That’s propaganda.

What Bongino actually said couldn’t be more different:

“I was paid in the past… for my opinions. One day I will be back in that space, but that’s not what I’m paid for now. I’m paid to be your deputy director and we base investigations on facts.”

Imagine that—an FBI official saying the words “we base investigations on facts.” And the media still tried to turn it into a scandal.

Bongino also reminded Hannity that the very same media pushing this smear spent years hyping the Russia collusion hoax—one of the largest media frauds in American history—and have never admitted they were wrong.

He put it perfectly: the difference between conservatives and the activist press is that when facts change, conservatives adjust. The left simply doubles down and invents new narratives to protect Democrats.

After the Mediaite lie began circulating, Bongino took to X and fired off a blistering response:

“Take a second to read this headline, and then read the actual quote from the article. It’s why the Russia hoax persists…”

Commenters were furious—and rightly so. One wrote: “Perfect example, Dan—no wonder it persists. ALL THEY DO IS LIE!”

Others pointed out that media outlets like Mediaite only exist to protect Democrats, bury the truth, and smear conservatives.

It’s the same pattern every time:
– distort the quote
– insert a fake narrative
– amplify it across left-wing Twitter
– hope nobody watches the actual clip

This is how fake news is manufactured.

The bigger picture? The establishment media is terrified that conservative voices hold platforms they no longer control. They can’t debate facts, so they rewrite them.

Bongino didn’t confess to lying. He exposed lying. And once again, the media proved his point for him.
