Players of Wheel of Fortune employ a wide range of tactics to solve the riddle and win the prize money. Contestants may spin the wheel in order to get additional letters added to the board, making it easier to find the correct answer. Other players like to spend their money on vowels so they can have a better look at the words on the board and attempt to put them together.
One player named Caitlyn didn’t need any strategy to solve a single problem. Although the board had only one letter and an apostrophe, she was able to figure it out in record time, leaving hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White agape. Hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White have been hosting the show for over three decades, but they’ve never seen someone solve the puzzle as quickly as Caitlyn did in this case.
The wheel was spun before Caitlyn’s turn, and the letter “R” was requested of Rick. However, because there were no letter “Rs” on the board, Rick forfeited his opportunity and the problem was handed to Caitlyn. Because the wheel stopped on some prize money when she spun it, she guessed the letter “L,” believing it might assist her in solving the problem.
Despite the fact that there was only one “L” on the board, Caitlyn was very sure she had the answer. She asked for permission to try to solve it, and then blurted out the solution that no one should have been able to discover with just a single letter on the board.
Sajak approved of her attempting to solve the riddle, telling her it was “okay.” She added, “It’s a prize puzzle,” explaining to viewers at home why she was striving to crack the code before spinning more and getting additional letters on the board. Sajak responded quickly, “Yeah,” confirming that she was playing for a luxury holiday; Caitlyn took his word and proceeded to provide the correct answer to the problem.
Although Sajak was doubtful that she’d be able to deliver the right response, she did so and left him and everyone in the studio audience – as well as those at home – in a state of jubilant shock and delight.
“I’ve got a good feeling about this,” she said as her reaction to the puzzle – and she was absolutely correct. She figured out how to solve the problem with just one letter and an apostrophe on the board, which is remarkable for anybody.
Caitlyn’s puzzle-solving abilities stunned the audience. The following are comments from YouTube:
“I can’t ever get over the 4 seconds of silence while Pat (and all of us) try to decide if she’s serious or just confused about how to play the game.”
“Truly one of the most amazing solves ever. Catlin was a very smart player.”
