In a case that has shocked much of the world, a Russian woman is accused of starving her 11-year-old foster son to “skin and bones” in order to collect disability payments.

According to the Daily Mirror, Lyubov Korotkova starved and drugged her 11-year-old foster son, Valery Kondourov. She is charged with “additional cruelty, humiliation, and torture” of the kid and fooling doctors into believing he had a rare disorder.

At the time, Valery was barely over three feet tall. He was also just three feet, five inches tall, which is considered rather small for a 5-year-old.

According on reports, Kopeckova, who is thought to be in her fifties, has been arrested by state authorities. She is currently in police custody as she awaits a criminal trial for intentionally fabricating a fraud to collect benefits by feeding her kid improperly so that he might appear to be horribly ill.

The mother was arrested after she allegedly forced her 5-year-old son to take medicine for a supposed stomach ailment. According to police, Korotkova “made her son take medical drugs in order to create a clinical manifestation of stomach sickness.”

“Having cheated the doctors, she managed to register her child as handicapped … and started receiving financial assistance, compensation and other allowances,” officials stated.

According to police reports, Korotkova is also charged with stealing more than $26,000 in state aid. She received additional money from organizations and spent it on “luxuries,” according to arrest papers.

The foster mother is now facing charges of fraud and causing “deliberate health damage” to the kid, according to authorities. If convicted, Korotkova might face up to ten years in jail. In May, officials were alerted to her behavior and a criminal inquiry was opened.

Korotkova’s heroism was quickly forgotten, and she was labeled a liar by the authorities of Den’chigorod, who claimed that she had deceived them into believing her live-saving actions were genuine. According to reports from local officials in Den’chigorod, even city mayor Yury Grishan pressed for Valery’s return

He was just 3-feet 5-inches high at age eleven due to the fact that of his foster mom’s violent treatment.

Kremlin children’s ombudsman Anna Kuznetsova thwarted attempts to have Valery returned to Korotkova. The youngster, according to reports, has no physical ailment other than the mistreatment he received from his foster mother. He is presently recuperating.

According to reports, Korotkova kept her intentions secret from her own husband, Andrei. Valery was reportedly terrified of eating under the care of his foster mother, who would feed him little portions of porridge and fish before administering medicines to make him ill.

The youngster had such a significant lack of growth that his clothing when he was three still fit him well when he was 11. Korotkova homeschooled the boy, so he never saw any teachers, according to The Sun.

Ultimately, a medical professional captured on and eliminated the kid from the foster mom’s care. If that had not taken place, the little young boy may not live today.
