Respecting the ocean or any massive body of water in general is something that most, if not all sailors do when they set out to challenge the open waters.
And let’s face it; the ocean can be a tricky thing, especially when attempting to deal with fierce currents, variable wind speeds, stormy conditions, and many other factors when it comes to navigating a seaworthy vessel successfully.
It’s also important to point out that ship construction has to meet some of the most precise specifications in order to stay afloat for a lengthy period of time; if not, trouble on the water seems to be an inevitability. And then we have the task of actually launching the ship from the dock and into the water, which also takes a great deal of navigating.
Finding some sort of balance is required; one wrong move and it may end up costing a pretty penny from the deck to the bow to the stern. In the video clip you’re about to see, not all ship launches are carried out as originally planned.
Whether backing a boat into the water from a trailer hitch or using a crane to gently lower the vessel down, things can go terribly wrong! This is a must-see video, and thankfully it appears that no one was injured during these attempted launches, although there may be a few bruised egos and repair costs to contend with. And don’t forget to share this when you’re done watching; it’s sure to make a splash!
