A new TikTok trend is offensive to many users.

The so-called “Jeffrey Dahmer Challenge” on TikTok, in which people document their emotional response to gory crime scene photos, has gotten a lot of attention on social media, according to Indy100.

After Netflix released a horror film starring Evan Peters as the notorious serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer — who murdered and dissected 17 young men and boys between 1978 and 1991 – has seen a resurgence in popular culture.

The search phrase “Jeffrey Dahmer victim polaroids” has obtained 531.2 million views on TikTok, according to the platform.

The video-sharing platform that is popular among teenagers has deleted many of the more disturbing images, but one user managed to post an edited clip with the title “Jeffrey Dahmer real polaroids” and captioned it as “EDITED REPOST!! [Because] TikTok took down the unedited one with 130k views.”

The video has been viewed 4,700,000 times.

Many social media users have spoken out against the troubling trend.

“The new Jeffery Dahmer show is so f–king grisly. i cannot believe it happened irl & what happened to all those deceased victims what a sick man he was,” wrote one user on Twitter. “What’s even worse is that there are a couple REAL polaroid photos that he actually took released out there on the internet.”

“People on tiktok are upset because they couldn’t find the Polaroids Dahmer took of his victims,” said another user.

“What tf is wrong with people? I’m actually sick to my stomach right now.”

“The tiktok’s r so shocked about the jeffery dahmer polaroids like Hello,” said another person.

“He ate People’s insides and kept their bleached Bones in his apartment what did u think the polaroids would be like.”
