At the 2025 National Education Association (NEA) conference — an event that’s supposed to be about helping educators improve learning for America’s children — one thing became clear: the radical left has completely hijacked public education.

Instead of focusing on reading, writing, or raising academic standards, delegates at this year’s NEA gathering openly pushed a political agenda laser-focused on vilifying President Trump and indoctrinating students with woke ideology. And they’re not even hiding it anymore.

According to a Free Press report, one Texas delegate revealed the shocking moment her friend — a fellow educator — tried to spark a conversation at the conference about how to better teach literacy. The response? “We don’t have time for that. We’ve got to fight Trump.”

Let that sink in.

At a national education conference—hosted by a taxpayer-funded union with over 3 million members — one of the top priorities wasn’t fixing America’s failing public schools, it was fighting a former president who isn’t even in office.

And they’re proud of it.

NEA President Becky Pringle, a former middle-school teacher turned far-left activist, declared in her keynote address that the union’s goal was to “liberate” students. Not teach them. Not prepare them. Liberate them — whatever that means in progressive speak.

Here’s what it really means: political activism in the classroom.

Among the “action items” voted on at the conference were resolutions to spend thousands of union dollars to attack Donald Trump, referring to him as a “fascist” in official NEA literature — a slanderous and intellectually lazy label that says more about the union than it does about the 45th President.

The NEA also voted to actively support protests — even violent ones — that claim to defend “democracy” from Trump’s so-called authoritarianism. The union specifically referenced support for the “Los Angeles-based movement” against federal efforts to restore law and order during the Trump administration.

But it didn’t stop there.

The union also accused ICE of “kidnapping” student leaders and vowed to support students “organizing against ICE raids and deportations.” They pledged to defend student protests against Trump’s border policies, his stance on biological gender in schools, and even his efforts to eliminate the bloated and ineffective U.S. Department of Education — a move widely supported by conservatives who believe in empowering parents and local school boards.

Of course, the NEA branded that effort “racist,” “anti-democratic,” and part of a billionaire conspiracy to destroy public schools — conveniently ignoring the fact that America’s public schools are already in crisis thanks to the very bureaucrats the union protects.

Here’s the bottom line: This isn’t a teachers’ union anymore — it’s a political machine. A radical leftist outfit more concerned with protest marches and demonizing half the country than teaching kids how to spell.

While parents fight to regain control of their children’s education, the NEA is too busy pushing propaganda and weaponizing the classroom. It’s long past time for serious education reform — and for taxpayers to stop funding a union that treats classrooms like campaign offices.

Parents deserve better. Our kids deserve better. And America deserves better than this.
