Bruce Springsteen might be a rock legend in liberal circles, but back home at the Jersey Shore, his latest Trump-bashing tirade just got him canceled — indirectly, at least.
A New Jersey cover band devoted to Springsteen’s music found itself uninvited from a gig at a popular bar in conservative-leaning Toms River after the “Born to Run” singer launched into yet another political rant — this time across the pond, during the European leg of his tour. His latest on-stage meltdown included calling President Trump’s administration “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous,” because apparently, even the beaches of Europe aren’t safe from leftist virtue-signaling.

The nine-member tribute band, aptly named *No Surrender*, was scheduled to perform at **Riv’s Toms River Hub** on May 30. That was until Springsteen’s unhinged remarks caught fire online and started raising eyebrows — especially among local business owners who know their customers.
Bar owner Tony Rivoli, whose clientele leans heavily conservative, didn’t take kindly to the Boss’s latest political tirade. Soon after the viral clips surfaced, he began texting the band’s frontman, Brad Hobicorn, expressing concerns about whether the gig would sit well with patrons.
“Unfortunately it’s just too much money… now because Bruce can’t keep his mouth shut we’re screwed,” Rivoli texted, according to *NJ Advance Media*.

Hobicorn tried to salvage the gig by offering to switch to a generic classic rock setlist. But the \$2,500 price tag for a band not playing Springsteen’s music suddenly didn’t seem worth it to Rivoli. “Toms River is red and won’t stand for his bull—,” he wrote in another message, adding that his bar observes complete silence during the national anthem.
Translation: This is a place where patriotism still matters.
After the band’s bassist shared the story on Facebook, Rivoli appeared to walk back his cancellation, saying the show was still a go. But by then, *No Surrender* had had enough of the back-and-forth and decided to move the performance elsewhere.
“This is not political for us at all,” Hobicorn claimed. “We’re just a cover band that’s trying to make some money.” But when the man you’re covering spends his time calling patriotic Americans “treasonous” while cozying up to global elites, it’s hard to separate the art from the artist.

Rivoli said he would’ve allowed the band to play as planned, but added, “A lot of people of my base would not have come.” And in a town that actually respects the flag and the country it represents, that’s not just a business decision — it’s common sense.
Instead of performing in Toms River, *No Surrender* will now play the *Headliner Oasis* in the more progressive Neptune Township — proving once again that politics and music don’t mix well when one side can’t help but insult half the country.
Meanwhile, Springsteen continues to burn bridges in his home state, trading his working-class image for globalist talking points and cheap applause in European arenas. As President Trump said on Truth Social, Springsteen is “Highly Overrated,” “dumb as a rock,” and “a pushy, obnoxious JERK.”
Looks like more folks back home are starting to agree.
