Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) proved once again on Sunday that Democrats believe the law only applies to their political opponents. Appearing on CNN’s *State of the Union*, Schumer unleashed a tirade against the idea that Democratic officials like New York Attorney General Letitia James could face Department of Justice investigations for their questionable actions.

The trigger? President Donald Trump’s blunt Truth Social post calling on Attorney General Pam Bondi to pursue lawbreakers in both parties, including high-profile Democrats who have skated by for years without consequences.

“Pam: I have reviewed over 30 statements and posts saying that, essentially, ‘same old story as last time, all talk, no action. Nothing is being done. What about Comey, Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff, Leticia??? They’re all guilty as hell, but nothing is going to be done,’” Trump wrote, channeling the frustration of millions of Americans who see one set of rules for Democrats and another for everyone else.

Trump continued by slamming efforts to push a weak “woke RINO” attorney into the DOJ to protect Democrat allies, reminding supporters that he fired the individual despite media spin. “There is a GREAT CASE,” Trump emphasized. “They impeached me twice, and indicted me five times OVER NOTHING. JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED, NOW!!!”

That blunt call for equal justice sent Schumer into a meltdown. Asked by host Dana Bash for his reaction, the Senate Democrat immediately accused Trump of attacking “democracy.”

“I think it’s a real threat to democracy, Dana,” Schumer claimed. “The Justice Department has always been very, very strong…they went after law violators without fear or favor. What Trump is doing is he’s turning it.”

Schumer went on to insist, without evidence, that Trump was simply targeting his “enemies,” calling it “the path to a dictatorship.”

But Schumer’s theatrics ignored a simple reality: Democrats have spent years weaponizing the DOJ and state attorneys general against conservatives. From the endless witch hunts against Trump himself, to Letitia James’ obsessive crusade against Trump’s businesses, to the FBI labeling parents at school board meetings as “domestic terrorists,” the pattern is obvious. The left has already turned law enforcement into a political weapon — and Schumer has cheered it on every step of the way.

Now, faced with the possibility that the same standards could finally be applied to his own party, Schumer is suddenly horrified. His hysterical warnings about “dictatorship” ring hollow when the Biden administration has repeatedly used the justice system to punish political opponents and shield allies.

Schumer wrapped up his CNN rant by declaring, “This is our rule of law. This is fundamental to our democracy, and we cannot let it stand.” Translation: Democrats should remain above the law, while Republicans get dragged through endless investigations.

The truth is simple: accountability is not a dictatorship. It’s justice. And if Democrats like Schumer and James are so terrified of being investigated, perhaps that says more about their conduct than it does about Trump’s commitment to restoring equal treatment under the law.
