Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is in full damage-control mode, lashing out at President Trump, Elon Musk, and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) for doing what Democrats fear most—shining a light on their wasteful spending and corruption.
In a recent press conference, Schumer, desperate to protect his party’s reckless spending, criticized DOGE’s aggressive efforts to eliminate fraud and abuse. But despite his bluster, he failed to provide a single example of a government program he would actually cut.
From the moment he returned to the White House, President Trump made it clear that bloated government agencies and wasteful programs were on the chopping block. The Department of Government Efficiency, led by Elon Musk, has been working around the clock to slash wasteful spending, cut unnecessary bureaucracy, and return power to the American people.
But instead of praising these efforts, the Left has done what it always does—complain.
Schumer, struggling to defend his party’s addiction to taxpayer money, tried to downplay DOGE’s work. “There is wasteful spending in government that needs to be cut,” he admitted before quickly shifting to a weak attack. “But you don’t use a meat axe and cut everything. We need to look at each program.”
Yet when pressed, Schumer failed to name a single program he would actually cut. Instead, he bizarrely defended wasteful government healthcare spending, claiming DOGE was targeting “community health centers” without providing any real evidence.
Of course, the media wasted no time rushing to Schumer’s defense. CNN’s Pamela Brown parroted the same talking points, citing a “professor” who claimed cutting government waste is like “trying to cut fat off a steak with a sledgehammer.”
It’s a laughable analogy—because the real issue isn’t a little excess fat. It’s an entire system rigged to funnel billions into useless projects, corrupt NGOs, and Democrat political machines.
But not everyone is letting the media get away with their dishonest framing. Representative Tim Burchett (R-TN) fired back at CNN, exposing their hypocrisy and refusal to cover real corruption.
“You had a nuclear person who was in charge of nuclear secrets, a man who dressed up as a woman, [who] would go into the airport and steal women’s luggage,” Burchett pointed out. “He was overseeing those nuclear secrets under the Biden administration, and I never heard y’all say a peep about that.”
Burchett then hammered home the real issue: taxpayer dollars being wasted on absurd projects while the media focuses on attacking Trump and Musk.
“Have y’all even talked about… Mozambique? We sent them ten million for circumcisions,” he continued. “Americans have been covering salaries. Where [is] the money going? All y’all do is run down Elon Musk and Donald Trump, and you continuously do this, and that’s why your ratings are in the tank, ma’am.”
Schumer and his media allies are in a frenzy because they know what’s happening—Trump, Musk, and the GOP are pulling the curtain back on the Democrats’ slush funds, fraudulent spending, and abuse of taxpayer money.
For years, Washington has operated as an unaccountable money machine, feeding billions into left-wing pet projects while hardworking Americans struggle to make ends meet. But now, the American people are waking up, and the establishment is terrified.
No wonder Schumer is panicking. The gravy train is coming to an end.
