In yet another stunning display of Democrat incompetence, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson found himself completely incapable of defending his radical pro-illegal immigrant policies when confronted by Rep. Brandon Gill. In a viral moment that has left conservatives cheering and Democrats scrambling, Gill pressed Johnson on why he consistently prioritizes illegal immigrants over hardworking American citizens—and the mayor had nothing but weak, evasive answers.
The showdown began with Gill laying out the undeniable facts: Johnson’s administration has gone out of its way to reward illegal aliens with taxpayer-funded benefits, while crime, homelessness, and economic decay continue to plague the people of Chicago. And yet, when faced with simple yes-or-no questions, the mayor could barely string together a coherent response.
Gill opened by questioning why Johnson has actively supported giving driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants, a policy that undermines election integrity and public safety. Rather than answering directly, Johnson tried to hide behind tired rhetoric about Chicago being a “welcoming city.” Gill cut him off immediately. “I’ll take that as a yes.”
The congressman continued hammering away: Did Johnson support spending tax dollars on healthcare for illegal immigrants? Instead of giving a straight answer, Johnson dodged once again with a vague, meaningless response about investing in all residents. That’s another yes.
Then came the kicker: Would Johnson support allowing illegal immigrants to vote in local elections? This time, Johnson outright refused to answer, falsely claiming he didn’t have jurisdiction over that issue. But Gill came prepared, pulling out a direct quote from the Chicago Sun-Times, proving that Johnson had, in fact, proposed granting noncitizens voting rights. Busted.
Johnson’s inability to defend his extreme policies continued when Gill exposed his administration’s support for taxpayer-funded abortions for illegal immigrants. Once again, Johnson tried to cloak his answer in meaningless leftist platitudes about “reproductive rights,” but the truth was clear—he supports using American tax dollars to subsidize abortions for noncitizens.
Perhaps the most outrageous revelation was when Gill confronted Johnson about his plan to create a government advisory board for noncitizens. Why should illegal immigrants—who have no legal right to be in the country—be given influence over government decisions? Johnson couldn’t justify it. Instead, he stammered, dodged, and tried to change the subject.
Social media erupted with outrage at Johnson’s pathetic performance. “This mayor enthusiastically supports every single one of those questions, yet he refuses to just admit it… That is how you know he knows it’s wrong,” one user posted. Another called for immediate legal action: “He should be arrested and put in prison. He doesn’t get to unilaterally decide to give illegals anything having to do with rights or tax dollars.”
As crime skyrockets, Chicagoans flee the city in droves, and hardworking Americans struggle under Biden’s disastrous economy, Johnson has made it crystal clear where his priorities lie—not with the citizens who pay his salary, but with illegal immigrants who drain public resources. The people of Chicago deserve better. It’s time to put America first.
