Months after making headlines for his passion for model trains, Rod Steward is facing minor battery charges. On New Year’s Eve, the British rock singer is said to have punched a security guard in the face and been charged with assault. Stewart was arrested while ringing in the New Year at a luxury hotel in Palm Beach after attempting to gain VIP entrance to a private occasion at the luxurious site.

The Daily Mail tracked down the police records that confirmed how Rod Stewart was implicated in the altercation. The singer was charged with misdemeanor simple battery after an incident at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida, which took place at 11:09 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.

Jessie Dixon, the hotel security guard, became acquainted with Sir Rod Stewart’s fist after greeting him. He was hired to work a private event in the hotel’s children’s area when “a group of people,” including Sir Rod Stewart, tried to get past the guards and enter the private ceremony. Dixon realized that the individuals attempting to enter “were unauthorized to do so”, and he resolved to prevent the singer from breaking regulations.

Stewart is not used to being denied his demands. That’s when he began banging on things, but it didn’t work with Dixon, who was stationed in the hotel’s children’s zone.

“The group began to get loud and cause a scene,” he stated. Stewart and his gang were told to leave and find a new location to ring in the New Year. However, the group refused to do so.

Mr. Dixon said that a guy later identified as Sir Rod Stewart’s son, Sean Stewart, “got ‘about nose to nose’ distance” from him and began shouting at him.

What you’re seeing isn’t going to stand, according to the British rocker. He stepped up and made a bid to terrify Dixon into giving him and his crew what they desired.

Rod “stepped toward him and threw a punch, striking Dixon in his left ribcage area,” the police report reads.

When the cops arrived, they sought to talk with Rod Stewart, who claimed he was only attempting to escort his children into the private function at The Breakers. However, Dixon denied them access and “Dixon became argumentative with his family, which in turn caused them to become agitated.”

Stewart, a man who is not one to mince words, was incensed by Dixon’s demeanor and pummeled him with his fist as a visual aid.

Later Stewart “apologized for his behavior in the incident.”

Witnesses were interviewed at the scene by police, who also spoke to two other hotel staff. They had previously worked the private event with Dixon. They signed sworn witness statements verifying that Stewart’s son, Sean, pushed Dixon and that Rod threw a punch at the security guard.

Cameras at the scene recorded Rod in action, demonstrating that he and his son were “the primary aggressors,” proving Stewart’s tale to be false.

Police stated Sean “forcefully pushed Dixon backward a few feet,” and when Dixon “regained his footing and stepped back,” Rod “stepped forward and struck Dixon’s chest with a closed fist.”
