In a press conference that hit like a political earthquake, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. lit up the radical left for its empty promises and political theater—especially over drug prices—praising former President Donald Trump for doing what socialist darlings like Bernie Sanders only ever talked about.

Kennedy didn’t hold back, calling out the progressive wing of the Democrat Party for years of grandstanding without results. “This was the fulcrum of Bernie Sanders’ runs for presidency, that he was going to eliminate this discrepancy between Europe and the United States,” Kennedy said. “As it turns out, none of them were doing it.”

The remarks came after Trump announced his plan to slash prescription drug prices in the U.S. by tying them to the lowest international prices—a bold “Most Favored Nation” policy that aims to put America first for once when it comes to healthcare. In a post on Truth Social, Trump laid it out: drugmakers will no longer be allowed to gouge American citizens while selling the exact same medications abroad for a fraction of the cost.

“For years the pharmaceutical companies claimed they needed to charge Americans five to ten times more than what people paid in Europe or Canada. It was a scam—pure and simple,” Trump wrote. “Now, they’re going to face real competition, and Americans are going to get fairness—finally.”

RFK Jr., now heading up HHS, hammered the left’s hypocrisy. “It’s one of these promises that politicians make to their constituents, knowing that they’ll never have to do it,” he said, pointing to the massive influence Big Pharma holds over Washington. “Congress is controlled in so many ways by the pharmaceutical industry.”

And he’s not wrong. The pharmaceutical lobby spends three times more than the next-biggest lobbying interest in Washington. That kind of cash buys silence and inaction—two things RFK Jr. made clear Trump isn’t interested in.

“This was an issue that people talked about. Nobody wanted to do anything because it was radioactive. They knew you couldn’t get it by Congress,” Kennedy said. “We now have a president who is a man of his word, who has the courage.”

And courage is exactly what Trump showed. While Democrats like Sanders and AOC are busy virtue-signaling on social media, Trump took action. He didn’t flinch in the face of Big Pharma or its billions in lobbying money. He issued the executive order anyway.

RFK Jr. praised Trump for his integrity and toughness, noting, “He can’t be bought, unlike most of the politicians in this country. And he is standing here for the American people.”

In one of the more emotional moments of the presser, Kennedy recalled telling his own children—self-described Bernie supporters—that Trump had done what their hero never did. “They had tears in their eyes,” he said. “They thought, this is never going to happen in our lifetime. And we finally have a president who’s willing to stand up for the American people.”

The message couldn’t be clearer: while the socialist left makes noise, President Trump makes moves. And this time, it’s the American people—especially working-class families crushed by absurd drug costs—who stand to win.
