After months of mounting outrage from the MAGA base—and years of complaints from American workers watching their jobs handed to offshore contractors and H-1B visa holders—Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has dropped a political hammer on Washington’s corporate class. On Thursday, MTG announced she is introducing legislation to eliminate the H-1B visa program entirely, calling it a decades-long scam used by multinational corporations to undercut American professionals.

In a post on X, Greene made her position unmistakably clear.

“I am introducing a bill to END the mass replacement of American workers by aggressively phasing out the H-1B program,” she wrote. “Big Tech, AI giants, hospitals, and industries across the board have abused the H-1B system to cut out our own people.”

She continued, “Americans are the most talented people in the world… My bill ELIMINATES the corrupt H-1B program and puts AMERICANS FIRST again in tech, healthcare, engineering, manufacturing, and every industry that keeps this country running!”

The announcement came with a two-minute video in which Greene delivered a blunt takedown of the visa system—a program originally sold to the public as a tool to fill “specialty positions,” but which she says has morphed into a massive corporate loophole for importing cheap foreign labor.

Greene began with the core issue: fraud and abuse.

“The H-1B visa program has been riddled with fraud and abuse and has been displacing American workers for decades,” she said. “I’m introducing a bill to completely eliminate it.”

Her plan includes a single, temporary exception: a 10,000-visa cap for doctors and nurses, which will itself be phased out over a decade. The goal, she explained, is to give the U.S. time to rebuild its own pipeline of American-trained medical professionals instead of relying on foreign workers.

Then came the part Big Tech absolutely won’t like.

“My bill will restore the original intent of the visa for it to be temporary. People should not be allowed to come and live here forever,” MTG said. “We thank them for their expertise, but we also wish them well so they may return to their home country.”

That shift includes a full elimination of the H-1B-to-green-card pipeline.

“My bill will take away the pathway to citizenship,” Greene said. “Visa holders will return home when their visa expires.”

She backed up her argument with a stunning statistic: over 9,000 American medical school graduates were denied residency placements last year, while more than 5,000 foreign-born doctors filled residency spots in 2023 alone.

“This is entirely unfair, and it’s America Last,” she said.

Greene’s proposal would also prohibit Medicare-funded residency programs from admitting non-citizen medical students—forcing taxpayer-funded training programs to prioritize American graduates.

Her message was simple and unapologetic:

“It’s time to put American citizens first, instead of foreigners first. Americans deserve a future. They deserve a chance. And I believe Americans are the most talented people in the world.”

As Big Tech, Biden-aligned corporations, and cheap-labor lobbyists scramble to respond, one thing is clear: MTG has drawn a bright red line. And millions of American workers are cheering her on.
