The reality TV world is in mourning following the tragic death of Kirk Medas, the beloved star of MTV’s *Floribama Shore*. Medas, 33, passed away after a hard-fought battle with health complications, leaving a hole in the hearts of fans and friends alike.
Aimee Hall, Medas’ co-star and close friend from *Floribama Shore*, shared the heartbreaking news on social media on May 2. In a touching tribute on Facebook, Hall described Medas as “our brother, our best friend, our heart.” She wrote, “I was at the beach when I felt it. Before the call even came, a dolphin kept coming up to me, as if to say goodbye.”

The heartfelt post continued with Hall reflecting on her special bond with Medas. She shared, “Kirk and I shared a love for dolphins and the ocean, and in that moment, I just knew. Though my heart is shattered, I find peace in knowing he’s no longer in pain. He’s in heaven now—free, whole, and making everyone laugh the way only he could.”
Medas, known for his infectious spirit and unwavering kindness, was the glue that held the *Floribama Shore* cast together. Hall emphasized, “Kirk had the kindest soul, a heart full of love for everyone he met, and a spirit that brought people together.”

The tragic news follows reports that Medas had been hospitalized on April 18 after suffering a “severe case” of necrotizing pancreatitis and sepsis. He spent over two weeks on a ventilator in the ICU, battling for his life before ultimately succumbing to his condition. His battle was closely followed by fans and castmates alike, with Hall and fellow *Floribama Shore* alum Nilsa Prowant sharing updates on social media.

Hall shared an emotional moment from Medas’ final days: “I’ll never forget the moment they placed him on the ventilator, before the coma took hold. I told him I loved him, and tears rolled from his eyes.” She reflected on the lasting impact of their friendship, saying, “I already miss his voice, his laughter, his presence. The world feels a little dimmer without him—but I know I’ll see my best friend again someday.”

Medas’ rise to fame began in 2017 when he was cast on *Floribama Shore*, an MTV reality show that followed a group of young adults living together in the Florida Panhandle. Medas quickly became a fan favorite, known for his fun-loving personality and ability to unite the cast with his humor and charisma.
He recalled his surprise at landing the role, revealing in a 2017 interview that he had tagged along with a friend who was auditioning for the show. “I ended up making the cut, but I felt bad because \[my friend] didn’t,” Medas said, showing the humility that endeared him to so many.

Medas continued to make appearances on other reality shows, including *Fear Factor* and *Wild ‘n Out*, and in his final months, he shared his personal journey with fans on Instagram, often posting about his fitness goals and spiritual growth.
While Kirk Medas’ time on this earth was far too short, his legacy as a loving friend, joyful spirit, and genuine soul will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and the countless fans who followed his journey on television. As Hall so beautifully put it, “Until then, I’ll carry him in my heart. Always.”
