In an astonishing display of radical rhetoric, far-left **Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (D-WA)** doubled down on her attacks against **Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)** in an interview with ABC News on Monday, September 29, claiming that the agency was “kidnapping” people and insisting her own incendiary commentary could not be considered “incitement.”
The exchange came amid rising tensions over a spate of attacks on federal law enforcement, including a shocking shooting at an ICE facility in Texas. ABC host Elizabeth Schulze asked Jayapal whether Democrats who spread anti-ICE rhetoric could be held responsible for such violent incidents.
Unfazed, Jayapal immediately turned the spotlight on herself as the “victim,” claiming she was the one under threat. “Well, look, my response is, I just had a state representative, a Republican Arizona state representative, call for me to be [hung]. He called for my execution,” she said. “If the White House was actually going after people who are inciting political violence, they should go after people like that.”
Jayapal then painted herself as a heroic defender against what she described as an “authoritarian government,” insisting her efforts were strictly “nonviolent” resistance. “But the reality is that we have an authoritarian government right now that is doing things that are unconstitutional. My work is to make sure that we continue to promote nonviolent resistance, active opposition to the things that are happening,” she claimed.
Yet it was her next statement that pushed the envelope into outright falsehood. Jayapal accused ICE of engaging in widespread “kidnapping” of everyday Americans. “I don’t think that Republicans, Democrats, and Independents, for the majority part — supermajority across the country — realize that ICE is coming in, masked men on our streets, kidnapping people who are hardworking folks who have just been doing their jobs, people who are here on legal visas, U.S. citizens,” she declared, spreading a shocking and misleading narrative that could further inflame tensions against federal law enforcement.
She went on to double down, asserting that ICE has become a “militarized force” abusing its authority, pushing people to the ground unnecessarily. “They are pushing people to the ground. We have a militarized force on our streets. That’s what ICE has turned into, and I’m going to continue to do everything I can to push back against that,” Jayapal said.
When pressed on whether any of her rhetoric might have contributed to the violent attacks, Jayapal refused to back down. “I have no rhetoric that I regret. Nothing that I have said is rhetoric that incites violence. All of it is about what is actually happening,” she insisted.
Jayapal’s remarks reflect a growing trend among radical left-wing politicians: vilifying federal law enforcement while dismissing any responsibility for violence their rhetoric inspires. Her framing of ICE as a force kidnapping law-abiding citizens is not only patently false but dangerously inflammatory, potentially putting officers and Americans at risk.
As Democrats like Jayapal continue to champion sanctuary city policies and demonize the men and women who enforce the law, the safety of federal agents and ordinary citizens alike hangs in the balance — all while mainstream media outlets provide a platform for this dangerous narrative. ICE officers are simply doing their jobs, enforcing federal immigration laws, yet they are being painted as villains in a political theater led by figures like Jayapal.
In short, Jayapal’s interview underscores the radicalization of the left and the lengths to which some Democrats will go to undermine law enforcement — all while refusing to accept accountability for the chaos their rhetoric fuels.
