Violence and destruction continue to escalate as radical protesters take aim at Tesla and its billionaire owner, Elon Musk. Late Sunday night, a fire broke out in Seattle’s industrial district, torching four Tesla Cybertrucks in what many suspect to be yet another politically motivated attack against Musk and his companies.
Seattle Police and federal agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) are investigating the fire, which erupted in a lot in the SoDo neighborhood around 11:13 p.m., according to Seattle Fire Department spokesperson David Cuerpo. While no injuries were reported, the fire completely destroyed the four electric trucks before firefighters managed to contain it.
Though officials have not yet identified a suspect, the timing and nature of the incident suggest a disturbing trend: leftist activists targeting Musk and Tesla with increasing aggression. This latest act of destruction follows a series of attacks on Tesla properties across the country, as protests against Musk intensify in response to his role leading the White House’s Department of Government Efficiency—a task force aimed at cutting wasteful government spending.
This fire is just the latest in a string of recent attacks on Tesla. Last week, in a brazen act of arson, seven Tesla charging stations near Boston were deliberately set ablaze. Around the same time, shots were fired at a Tesla dealership in Oregon, raising further concerns that these incidents are far from random.
Meanwhile, anti-Musk demonstrators took to the streets in New York City over the weekend, staging a large protest outside a Tesla showroom in Manhattan’s West Village. Chants of “Nobody voted for Elon Musk” and “Oligarchs out, democracy in” filled the air as radical activists attempted to frame the billionaire as some sort of unelected tyrant—simply for daring to take on government inefficiency. At least six protesters were arrested for disorderly conduct.
The situation is even more alarming in Colorado, where a woman was recently charged with malicious destruction of property for allegedly throwing Molotov cocktails at vehicles and spray-painting “Nazi” on a Tesla dealership. Despite being released on bond, she reportedly returned to the same location and continued vandalizing it, leading the local police chief to criticize the justice system’s lax approach, lamenting that there are now “no repercussions to lawlessness.”
The radical left loves to claim that democracy is under threat, but their response to political disagreements seems to be violence, destruction, and outright anarchy. The idea that Elon Musk—who simply wants to trim bloated government programs and hold officials accountable—is some kind of dangerous “oligarch” is laughable. The real danger comes from the lawless mobs who torch cars, vandalize businesses, and fire bullets at dealerships just because they disagree with someone politically.
As these attacks grow more coordinated, one has to wonder: will law enforcement take this seriously before it’s too late? Or will the same soft-on-crime policies that have emboldened left-wing rioters in cities across America continue to fuel this wave of destruction?
