Paris Hilton was never aware that she would be thrown into a violent world after attending a private school in Utah. She eventually signed with Donald Trump’s T Management at the age of nineteen and went on to have a reality TV career. Before she became a household name, she was subjected to relentless abuse and bullying while enrolled in her personal education at the Provo Canyon School in the late 1990s.

39-year-old Paris Hilton is eager to tell her story to the rest of the world. She will be describing all of the terrible details of her private Utah boarding school’s abuse, as well as how she has coped with it, in order to help others who may have experienced similar situations. Because, despite the atrocities, she experienced while at that institution, Hilton was able to utilize her modeling career to establish a successful company with a brand and stores under its umbrella.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Hilton discusses the physical, emotional, and mental abuse she experienced at the school. Despite that horrific abuse, Hilton was able to move forward and become the woman she is today. Many young girls and women experience abuse so Hilton wants them to find relief in her story.

“I buried my truth for so long,” Hilton said. “But I’m proud of the strong woman I’ve become. People might assume everything in my life came easy to me, but I want to show the world who I truly am.”

Hilton released her documentary “This Is Paris” on her personal YouTube channel.

She lived near Trump in the Waldorf Astoria Hotel with her parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton, and her younger siblings: Nicky, 36, Barron, 30, and Conrad, 26. Before she was on “The Simple Life” in 2003 opposite Nicole Richie as Paris Hilton, she had previously lived near him at the Waldorf Astoria with her family: Rick and Kathy Hilton.

“It was so easy to sneak out and go to clubs and parties,” Hilton commented about living close to Trump Tower. “My parents were so strict that it made me want to rebel. They’d [punish me] by taking away my cell phone, taking away my credit card, but it didn’t work. I would still go out on my own.”

Hilton’s parents sent her to boarding schools because they wanted to discipline her, just like Trump, who was sent off to a military academy for his poor behavior as a youngster. However, when she got to Utah, she would be disciplined much more than her parents realized.

“I knew it was going to be worse than anywhere else,” added Hilton. “It was supposed to be a school, but [classes] were not the focus at all. From the moment I woke up until I went to bed, it was all day screaming in my face, yelling at me, continuous torture.”

The abuse was an everyday occurrence and extremely frustrating.

“The staff would say terrible things. They were constantly making me feel bad about myself and bully me. I think it was their goal to break us down. And they were physically abusive, hitting and strangling us. They wanted to instill fear in the kids, so we’d be too scared to disobey them.”
