Audrey, who is Tisha’s neighbor, came to her home and asked her if she could watch her kids. Audrey went to the doctor and found out that she had cancer. She passed away a short time later.
Tisha and her husband decided to take in Audrey’s three children. The couple had their hands full because they already had five children. The family struggled to take care of the children, but fortunately, they were able to get help.
Fox 5 found out about the struggle that Tisha and her husband were going through. They arranged for the Audrey and Kevin’s home to be renovated. The home now has enough space to accommodate the 10 people who live there.
Tisha was overwhelmed, but she did could not fathom letting the three children go to foster care.
She grew up in foster care, and that was the last thing she wanted for the children. Tisha stated that growing up in a foster home was traumatizing. She wanted the children to have a place that they could call home.
Tisha and Kevin are still struggling, but they are happy that they are able to take care of their family. They are also overwhelmed by the generosity of the community.
