A mother’s love is supposed to be unconditional for her child. Mothers are seen as protectors and it is implied that they will die for their children. But some mothers do not understand what it is to love and care for a child. Police have charged Tisha Sanchez with the murder of her eight-year-old son. Miss Sanchez, alludes to the fact that demons told her to kill her child. A wild claim, but unfortunately not a rare one. Deputies responded to a 911 call to sadly find the boy -Joevani De La Pena dead at his mother’s home in Irving Northwestern Dallas Texas. it is alleged that Miss Sanchez smothered her child with a pillow. Shortly after the murder of her child, Miss Sanchez contacted her sister and told her that demons had told her to smother her child with a pillow and she needed to forgive her for what she did.
It did not take long for Sanchez to admit her guilt, and she was also the one that phoned 911 to alert the police to the death of her child. Miss Sanchez’s child was found dead on a bed in an RV behind a family member’s home. The Dallas County Medical Examiner advised the child was long dead before any authorities arrived on scene. The crime has sent shock waves through the community of Irving. Many neighbors knew and loved the child. Because of the grief many neighbors are having trouble sleeping or coming to terms with what Miss Sanchez did to her own flesh and blood. Unfortunately, Miss Sanchez had previously been reported to CPS, but the child was never taken from her custody and the cases were closed. Unfortunately this is not Miss Sanchez’s first run-in with the law. An officer was called to a Ross department store after shoppers called to report that Miss Sanchez was being overly rough with her child refusing to let go of his neck. So angry was she by the police being called, Miss Sanchez allegedly kicked an officer and put her hands on the officers holstered gun. After a mental health check, the boy was allowed to stay with his mother and no follow ups were undertaken by CPS.
After a brief struggle and an assault charge, they booked Miss Sanchez at around 10:30 on the morning after the murder. Her total bond is set at $750,000 and she was arraigned and then moved to the Dallas County Jail. Jovani’s family is devastated by the loss of the child and has started a fundraiser to pay for his funeral. With a loving spirit his friends and family will surely miss the child. We do not know why Miss Sanchez did what she did other than hearing voices and jail officials report that she is showing some signs of mental instability. In truth Jovani fell through the cracks in the system, and it cut his little life short because of several shortcomings. Hopefully, justice is obtained for Jovani and all the other victims of such heinous crimes.
