Amidst the ongoing crisis at our southern border, the flood of migrants breaching Arizona’s border walls persists, with over 320,000 encounters recorded in this fiscal year alone. In a troubling display of audacity, a viral video captures these migrants gleefully snapping selfies after unlawfully crossing from Mexico into Arizona.

Recent statistics released by an unofficial Border Patrol report, bravely shared on social media by Chief Patrol Agent John Modlin, shed light on the magnitude of the situation. Over 10,000 migrants were apprehended in the Tucson Sector in just one week, underscoring the alarming frequency of illegal entries. A stark reminder of the porousness of our borders, a Fox News video exposes a sizable group of migrants nonchalantly exploiting a breach in the wall to gain unauthorized entry.

But perhaps most concerning is the shameless self-promotion exhibited by some of these migrants, who shamelessly document their illegal activities on social media platforms. These reckless displays serve as a brazen advertisement, enticing others from across the globe to embark on similarly perilous journeys to the United States.

Chief Modlin, on the frontlines of this crisis, revealed that his agents encountered a staggering 10,500 migrants in the past week alone. This alarming figure contributes to a grim total of over 22,700 migrants who have crossed into our country in just the first two weeks of March.

As we reflect on the week gone by, the numbers paint a harrowing picture: 10,500 apprehensions, 210 federal criminal cases, 24 rescues, 23 human smuggling events, 6 narcotics events, 2 significant arrests, and the seizure of 1 firearm. These statistics underscore the multifaceted challenges faced by our valiant Border Patrol agents as they strive to uphold law and order amidst chaos.

Zooming out to assess the broader landscape, the figures for the fiscal year thus far are equally troubling. Tucson Sector agents have intercepted nearly 323,000 migrants over the span of just five months. This staggering tally accounts for approximately one-third of all migrant apprehensions nationwide, underscoring the severity of the crisis gripping our borders.

In the hierarchy of sectors grappling with this influx, Tucson leads the pack, trailed closely by the Del Rio Sector with approximately 183,000 apprehensions. San Diego and El Paso Sectors follow suit, each reporting over 100,000 migrant apprehensions this year, further illustrating the widespread nature of this crisis.

As we confront this unprecedented surge in illegal border crossings, it is imperative that we take decisive action to secure our borders and protect the sovereignty of our nation. The safety and security of our citizens depend on it.
