A shocking road rage incident in Attleboro, Massachusetts, has left a single mother of two severely injured after a violent assault by an unlicensed driver. The horrifying attack, which has sparked outrage and an outpouring of support for the victim, highlights the dangers posed by reckless drivers and escalating violence on America’s roads.

Hailea Soares, a 31-year-old mother, was driving through an intersection when she collided with another vehicle after its driver, later identified as 26-year-old Rhode Island resident Gladior Kwesiah, allegedly slammed on his brakes. What followed was a scene of senseless brutality that has left Soares physically and emotionally shattered.

According to police reports and witness testimony, Kwesiah forcibly pulled Soares from her car, snatched her phone, and, in a shocking display of violence, body-slammed her onto the pavement. A bystander captured the terrifying moment on video, showing Soares defenseless as she was hurled to the ground.

Speaking to WHDH-TV, Soares recounted the harrowing experience: “He kept slamming on his brakes, and when we got to the intersection, he hit a light and stopped in front of me. As soon as we went through, he slammed on the brakes, and I hit him. I tried to defend myself, and then he picked me up—that’s when I realized I was in the air, and the next thing I knew, I was on the ground.”

Kwesiah was arrested at the scene and faces multiple charges, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious injury, malicious destruction of property, and driving without a license. Attleboro Police Sgt. Kevin Sellers condemned the attack as “inappropriate and unacceptable conduct stemming from what was essentially a minor motor vehicle crash.”

Soares sustained severe injuries, including a broken knee, broken foot, damage to her eye socket, and a serious skull injury. She was rushed to Sturdy Memorial Hospital for emergency care and now faces months of recovery. As the sole provider for her two young children, Soares is grappling with the daunting prospect of medical bills and lost income while trying to heal.

In the wake of the attack, a GoFundMe campaign launched by a family friend has raised over $32,000 to help Soares with her mounting expenses. The campaign’s heartfelt description details the brutal assault and its devastating consequences for Soares and her children, urging supporters to rally around this young mother in her time of need.

The incident has drawn attention to the need for stricter enforcement against unlicensed drivers and tougher penalties for road rage violence. Many conservatives see this case as a tragic symptom of broader societal issues, including a lack of accountability for criminal behavior.

For Hailea Soares, the road to recovery will be long and arduous, but the support of her community offers a glimmer of hope. As her story spreads, it serves as a sobering reminder of the need to restore civility on America’s roads and ensure justice for those who are victimized by reckless and violent individuals.
