In 2015, Drew Curtis called himself a “time traveler from 2020.” If that didn’t make people sit up and take notice, he then said they should “enjoy 2016” because it was as good as “it’s as good as it gets for a while.” Although 2016 was a very controversial year with Hillary Clinton winning the popular vote but losing the presidency to Donald Trump, who at the time was a reality television star, things have only gotten worse in subsequent years as Drew Curtis warned would happen.

Curtis founded the news site Fark and has been using his claim of being a time traveler to talk about how he knows more than anyone else. Although Curtis was just joking about the initial time traveler post, he recently retweeted his own post back on May 1, 2020, as a reminder to people that he had “predicted” how bad things were going to get.

Curtis’s outrageous prediction has made him a viral social media star on the Chinese app TikTok. Although most people believe that Curtis was kidding about being a time traveler (even though there is a group of conspiracy theorists who see him as some sort of messiah), more individuals are going to him for guidance and optimism during this troubling period in American society.

While Trump is the leader, the United States has gone into lawlessness and terrible economic depression that rivals the Great Depression from about one hundred years ago. Hate crimes including racism have increased, as well as gun violence and police brutality cases.

Regarding the upcoming November election, Curtis said things will “get better.” He went on to say that states will more than likely “close down again” because so few people are adhering to the CDC guidelines of wearing masks and remaining six feet apart.

Other people, on the other hand, wanted to learn more about popular culture in light of all of the coronavirus news. Curtis made it clear that Trump would lose the election and that One Direction “might” get back together to reap the rewards of a reunion “after one of (the members) comes out of rehab for the first time.”

Conspiracy theorists are taking Curtis’ new message at face value and betting in favor of him being right yet again.

“Anyone else freaked out by this,” one person said on TikTok.

“THIS IS FREAKING ME OUT ABOUT HOW ACCURATE HE IS,” another said.

Instead of being considered a savior by conspiracy theorists, Curtis has admitted that he isn’t an actual time traveler. His skills with computers help him predict the future instead.

“I run a news aggregation website, and reading everything keeps me a step ahead,” Curtis said.
