A mom with five young kids became popular on TikTok for sharing a video of her messy house after she worked six, ten-hour shifts in a row and her ex-husband refused to clean up. The video shows each room overflowing with clothes, dirty laundry, dishes, cups, and plates.
TikTok user @5kids5catssomedogstoo, also known as Lynalice Bandy, shared her struggles at home where her husband was not contributing enough to manage some of the household duties. It seems that this man was unwilling to provide the necessary support to a busy mother during her time of need, particularly after she worked tirelessly for six consecutive days without much rest.
Bandy’s video gained immense popularity, with over seven million views and sixteen thousand comments. Many people praised the busy mom for standing up to her deadbeat husband and leaving him behind after he failed to provide support when she needed it. Bandy’s supporters on TikTok showed support for her decision to leave her husband, who didn’t help with the house cleaning while she worked and brought home the paycheck.
The text was superimposed on the video stating “I’ve worked six, ten-hour days in a row with only one day off being a sick day. / I’d like to pretend I’m not the only person who cleans here, but as you can see / These rooms don’t get much attention when I’m not here.”
The video does the work for Bandy without her having to say anything negative about her husband. She simply shows how he left the house in disarray while taking care of it. The mess left by the family is scattered throughout various areas of the house, including the kitchen, dining room, and bedrooms. It would be reasonable to expect an able-bodied adult to make some effort in tidying up while the mother was out working hard and earning money for the family, but unfortunately, this husband did not take any steps to do so.
Furthermore, since the children were on vacation, the father/husband didn’t have to assist them with their homework. Hence, he had extra time to make sure that they cleaned up after themselves after making a mess.

Every time Bandy came home from her long work shifts, the man consistently provided a new excuse for why he couldn’t clean up after his family. She stated, “Every single day I’ve gotten home from work, I’ve been met with one disaster or another caused by inattentive parenting.”
