If a biopic is ever made about Judge Judy Sheindlin’s life, she has a few casting suggestions in mind.

If a film were to be made about her life, the television courtroom judge would prefer Reese Witherspoon play her.

“We’re friends, and she gets me, and I know she does,” Sheindlin said, adding that she thinks Reese Witherspoon is a “fabulous lady.”

“And I think she’s a great actress, and I think she could — if they did, which I would not like — I think that she could carry that off,” Judy Sheindlin said.

After 25 successful seasons, “Judge Judy” went off the air in July 2021 after Sheindlin decided to no longer work with CBS.

After Judy Sheindlin’s iconic daytime TV show ended, she went on to launch “Judge Justice” in 2021. This digital sequel to “Judge Judy” is available on Amazon’s Freevee and has already generated more than 75 million streaming hours in the US and the UK.

In 2021, Sheindlin told the Hollywood Reporter that she doesn’t anticipate retirement in the near future and is thoroughly enjoying making the spin-off show. Her granddaughter Sarah Rose costars alongside her.

“I don’t play golf or tennis. I have no desire to learn how to play mahjong, chess or checkers. I know what I like to do,” Sheindlin said. “Why, at my stage in life, would I try to find something else when I already know what I like?”
