MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, the once-conservative-turned-liberal-talking-head, is making headlines again—this time for defending a wildly out-of-touch statement about Joe Biden’s mental fitness that most Americans find laughable.

During a March 2024 episode of *Morning Joe*, Scarborough went on an unhinged rant claiming that President Biden was “far beyond cogent” and boldly declared:

“This version of Biden… is the best Biden ever.”
He even topped it off with a vulgar “F-you if you can’t handle the truth” to anyone who dared to disagree.

Now, months later, Scarborough was confronted with his own words in an interview with political analyst Mark Halperin, who rightfully asked if the statement was misleading—especially considering Biden’s now infamous senior moments, like asking where a deceased congresswoman was, forgetting major events, and struggling to answer basic questions.

But instead of walking it back, Scarborough doubled down. He claimed he’s “never seen the bad days” and insisted that in private meetings, Biden was more “analytical” than most world leaders he’s encountered. In a stunning display of media bubble delusion, Scarborough painted the image of a sharp, worldly Biden—while the rest of the nation continues to witness the president stumble through sentences and forget where he is on a near-weekly basis.

When pressed, Scarborough did eventually concede that yes, some clips are bad—but he quickly pivoted to bashing Trump, a classic MSNBC tactic. He likened Biden’s bumbling to Trump’s, trying to equate the two. But no matter what you think of Trump’s bombast, he’s never confused the President of Egypt for the leader of Mexico or claimed to have spoken with people who died years ago.

Scarborough then dismissed viral video evidence of Biden’s decline by saying he puts more stock in his personal conversations than in “one or two clips here and there.” Of course, those “clips” are daily occurrences that show a commander-in-chief who appears overwhelmed, confused, and frequently reliant on staff to guide him off stage.

It gets worse. Scarborough previously lashed out at former Special Counsel Robert Hur for exposing Biden’s shocking memory failures during the classified documents investigation. Hur’s report described Biden as an “elderly man with a poor memory” who couldn’t remember the year his own son died or when he was vice president. Scarborough demanded an apology from Hur, suggesting the respected prosecutor was angling for a Trump-appointed judgeship.

The problem? Audio of Biden’s interview with Hur, released just days ago, confirmed what most already suspected—Biden’s cognitive decline is not a right-wing smear; it’s real, and it’s serious.

Even CNN’s Abby Phillip admitted Hur may have undersold just how bad Biden’s memory lapses were.

Yet here’s Scarborough, eyes closed, fingers in ears, insisting Biden is the sharpest he’s ever been. It’s a stunning example of partisan delusion—defending the indefensible to protect a failing presidency. At a time when America needs strength and clarity, Scarborough and his media cohorts are playing PR agents for a president who can’t even remember key moments from his own life.

The question isn’t whether Biden is the “best Biden ever.” The real question is: how long will the media keep gaslighting the public while this country stumbles through a presidency on autopilot?
