Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), one of the loudest voices in the House’s progressive circus, is now desperately trying to clean up the mess she created after smearing Republicans with false Epstein accusations — and her explanation is somehow even more embarrassing than the smear itself.

Crockett caused outrage Tuesday night when she stood on the House floor and accused multiple Republicans — including former Rep. Lee Zeldin — of taking donations from “Jeffrey Epstein.” She delivered the line as if she’d uncovered some explosive scandal to defend fellow Democrat Delegate Stacey Plaskett, who was facing censure for communicating directly with the actual Epstein while he coached her questions about Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen.

But when Crockett got called out for the lie?
She went straight to CNN to claim it was all just a big misunderstanding — because apparently, in her words, she never said it was that Jeffrey Epstein.

“I never said that it was that Jeffrey Epstein,” Crockett insisted to host Kaitlan Collins, after being given a chance to correct the record.

Her defense? She Googled.

No, really.

“Because they decided to spring this on us in real time,” she said, “I wanted the Republicans to think about what could potentially happen… So my team Googled, and that is specifically why I said a Jeffrey Epstein.”

In other words:
She didn’t bother verifying her accusation but felt fine smearing Republicans with the name of a dead pedophile in a televised congressional debate.

And then, astonishingly, Crockett blamed Republicans for believing her and putting her baseless smear into the official congressional record.

She even tried to paint herself as the honest one:
“Unlike Republicans, I at least don’t go out and just tell lies,” she claimed — after telling one of the most ridiculous lies of the entire Epstein saga.

Zeldin Responds: “NO FREAKIN RELATION YOU GENIUS!”

Zeldin, now head of the EPA, wasted no time calling out Crockett’s disgraceful insinuation.

“Yes Crockett, a physician named Dr. Jeffrey Epstein… donated to a prior campaign of mine,” he posted on X. “NO FREAKIN RELATION YOU GENIUS!!!”

FEC filings prove Zeldin received two donations in 2020 — months after Epstein the trafficker had already been dead for nearly a year.

Another donor with the same name, a beverage company owner in New Jersey, also made a contribution. Again: perfectly legal, perfectly public, and categorically not the late billionaire predator.

It took reporters and online researchers two minutes to confirm this. Crockett claims she didn’t have “time.”

Democrats Squirm as Their Epstein Games Backfire

Even left-leaning voices couldn’t defend Crockett’s disastrous spin.

CNN’s Scott Jennings labeled Crockett “the perfect modern Democrat,” mocking her inability to admit fault.
The Washington Free Beacon’s Chuck Ross called her excuse “truly insane spin.”
Former CNN analyst Chris Cillizza said what most Americans were thinking:
“She clearly meant to insinuate the donations were from that Jeffrey Epstein. Why can no one say ‘I was wrong and I am sorry’ anymore?”

Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) summed it up best:
“This exchange is an embarrassment to this institution on every level.”

Democrats wanted to weaponize the Epstein files to hurt Trump.
Instead, their own members are imploding, scrambling, and lying about Googling “a Jeffrey Epstein.”

And this is the party that claims it wants to defend “truth” and “democracy.”

What a joke.
