The View, a daytime talk show on ABC, has come under fire in recent years for its right-leaning bias. Joy Behar, 77, the oldest original cast member and one of the longest-serving personalities on the program, has announced her retirement when her contract expires in 2022. Behar is loved by many, but she is also despised by many. Because of her political beliefs, she has generated a lot of animosity on the part of numerous individuals over the years – particularly since Donald Trump was elected president.

During the interview, Behar was gleeful to speak about how she intended to depart ABC’s program after her agreement ended.

“I have a three-year contract,” Behar said in the book. “But that doesn’t mean I can’t leave if I want to, because they can’t really do anything to me at this point. I don’t see myself staying for more [time]. That’s it!”

Behar is the show’s liberal. She also made it clear that she might not quit, regardless of how she feels while going.

“I could be wrong. If I’m as fabulous in [2022] as I am now, I’ll think about. But the chances of that happening…” she said, pausing. “You know, time marches on. I’m not a kid.”

Variety sought to discover whether the interview was accurate or not, so their reporters confronted The View and asked them if Behar’s retirement was imminent. Variety wanted to know if Behar would really allow her contract to lapse in 2022.

According to Variety, Behar was not being discharged and that the report was untrue. “is not true.”

The spokesperson said: “Joy was asked what happens at the end of her contract and as she herself made clear in the interview if she’s ‘as fabulous in [2022] as I am now,’ she will be in her seat at the table.”

Throughout her time on the show, Behar has been a Democrat. She has outlasted the program’s founder, Barbra Walters, who departed in 2014 at the age of 84.

In 2013, ABC dismissed Behar due to her political views. They nevertheless permitted her to appear on the program as a guest. However, two years later, she was readmitted as a full-time host on the show.

She wrote a book called The Great Gasbag: An A–Z Study Guide to Thriving in Trump World, which was published earlier this year.

Behar took a leave of absence from The View on March 13, 2015, as a result of the coronavirus epidemic.

She claimed that she wouldn’t fly in for the performance.“I’m in a higher risk group because of my age, but I’m perfectly healthy.”

She has been phoning in for her appearances on the program from her home in the Hamptons recently.
